Movie Title Riddle Game

Post a movie title which you have hidden with a riddle wrapped in an enigma.

Don't post the answer as a spoiler, make people try to figure it out. I only did that here as an example.

To begin: Bathroom Candle Core

ShogunofYonkers got this one, FYI:
John Wick
(Also FYI... There are a lot of unsolved riddles waiting in these pages.... Just sayin')

reply

A female in labor... But not baby-related.

reply

The working girls 1974

reply

It was singular, so not "girls," but you were extremely close. Jimmy got it though.

reply

Working Girl.

reply

Correct!

reply

I swear this one is so easy:

SAMSUNG
PHONE
CASES

reply

Right, I've given plenty of people ample time to answer this one and so I suppose I'll just put it to bed personally to kill the concept from arising again.

Guardians of the Galaxy.

reply

THANK GOD. Are you god?

Are you a robot?

reply

now I get it.

reply

No.

My room, ten minutes.

reply

Can I bring my harmonica?

reply

I'm pretty sure you mean accordion Spanners.

reply

I suspected that, but was so unsure... I had looked it up hastily, and the first link I hit had it incorrectly listed as a harmonica.

But yes, accordion. I checked again just now for an image instead.

reply

I thought you LOVED that cult classic in the making, dripping with nuance, philosophically mind blowing masterpiece of a movie?

reply

Indeed I do, it's one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time, right up there with movies like Contact.

But harmonicas and accordions just aren't interesting enough for me to keep them delineated.

reply

There's a proper reason why the accordion was used Spanners, quite a decent metaphorical one actually which hints towards sme loftier notions.

reply

Glad to see you appreciate the depth and metaphor of the movie.

Cheers.

reply

As long as you understand why the accordion is used and not any other instrument then we are on the same page.

reply

Dammit!
That was driving me crazy

Well done Jimmy!

reply

I was shocked that nobody was picking up on it, it seemed obvious to me but perhaps some clues are good for some and others are better for others.

Glad it's out the way though now Yonkers!

reply

give us another one i just got here!

reply

Okay, here's one just for you: Most people would consider themselves lucky going almost half a century avoiding getting screwed.

reply

i got no idea hahahha

reply

Well I will consider it a practice round for ya: The 40 Year Old Virgin.

reply

Story of Stories

reply

Tale of Tales.

reply

yes

reply

A dozen pissed off guys

reply

12 Angry Men. (Of which Juror 8 was one of them!).

reply

you got it.

reply

"(Of which Juror 8 was one of them!)"

Ahem.... "Of which Juror 8 was one."

Tsk, tsk!

reply

One of what?

reply

One of what?

"One of which"

Or you could ask about your post... what is referred to by "of which"?

Or you could ask about your post... "who are 'them'?"

The fact remains: You had two of's... "of which" and "of them" became redundant because they are the same concept.

reply

What which?

reply

The wicked witch of the west, of course.

reply

Which west?

reply

I did this one too way back there... So I will abstain.

reply

A synonym for "fly" (flight, not the insect), but spoken with a lisp.

reply

13

reply

Nope... Are you referring to the movie with Mickey Rourke, though?

As for movies with that title, I really like this one:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328538/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

reply

No

Here's a hint : based on a true story

reply

All I can think of for true stories is Apollo 13.

reply

No, it's not

It involved American soldiers

reply

[deleted]

THOR! Yes

reply

I don't get it

reply

Fly = Soar
"Soar" with a lisp (or lithp, if we're being silly) = Thor

reply

more like a strong speech impediment.

reply

reply

DAT CHASM!

reply

reply

A user after my own heart!

reply
