Movie Title Riddle Game

Post a movie title which you have hidden with a riddle wrapped in an enigma.

Don't post the answer as a spoiler, make people try to figure it out. I only did that here as an example.

To begin: Bathroom Candle Core

ShogunofYonkers got this one, FYI:
John Wick
(Also FYI... There are a lot of unsolved riddles waiting in these pages.... Just sayin')

I am very distracted by the band name Violent Femmes, it matches, but there was never a movie or documentary on them with that title. But femmes is plural, so it isn't a perfect fit anyway.

reply

Also, I'm focusing on the title itself (no luck yet), but I just want to make sure you're not describing one of these:

The Crying Game
Psycho

Okay, there, had to get two cross-dressing killers out of the way.

reply

One more: The Devil Doll. This is my first real guess.

reply

oh god your down a rabbit hole now! waaaaay overthinking haha
singular yes... but you missed the other key.

maybe take a look at my other clues on this page to remind yourself of "my way" of writing?

reply

the capital "V" was intentional. i'm like the anti-kowalski for the most part unless need be.

reply

Well now I'm thinking of Sid Vicious, as if Sid was in the title.

I'm still on this, but I keep circling in the same topic areas of violent crossdressers or transgenders.

reply

well yeah. it is Sid Vicious or simply "Sid and Nancy"

perhaps you dont know nancy/nancy boy is a slur?
https://www.lexico.com/definition/nancy

i used the violent crossdresser context as a red herring. i knew people wouldnt be able to stop thinking about violent crossdressers! who cant?!

it was funny your first guesses were punk stuff! had me grinning!
i threw Sid's "my way" in that reply post too! :)

reply

Ah yeah, I am familiar with nancy as an insult, and I thought about submitting Sid & Nancy, but I didn't know why it would be an answer and was only looking at Nancy as a name.

I've also met a few violent crossdressers and trannies in my time. I do live by Hollywood, after all =)

The computer in 2001 wasn't an advanced enough AI to care about human emotions or personalities.

Shallow Hal

reply

Indeed! I just couldn't think of a way to refer to Hal without making it obvious. He may be the only computer that pilots a space vessel, but probably not. Any description could get easily confused with the Enterprise computer from Star Trek.

reply

Another great Hal, is the Dad (Bryan Cranston) in Malcolm in the Middle.

reply

Oh yeah -- The only way I can hear his name is when his wife is yelling it in annoyance.
