I'm married with children,so I rarely go out to the bar theses days, although I did plenty of it in my youth. I was out for St. Paddy's most of the day yesterday, and it was a pretty nice day for this time of year in Michigan. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that almost nobody smokes cigarettes anymore. Good job America.

I think less smoking is a first world-global trend.
Obesity seems, however, to have increased in most of this countries. Not sure what is most likely to be healthiest, living on an average of 4500 kcal a day, or Smoking a pack a day and consuming a non-weight-gaining amount of calories.
(Not saying that everybody that quits smoking eats more, but a lot of them do)
That's true, but as long as the next generation doesn't ever start smoking,that will be a small issue.
