Have any of you Movie Chatters ever met up with someone you had previously established an anonymous online relationship with? Not really talking about quick sex hookups or anything like that, but more meeting someone you chatted with quite a bit but only knew as a username. This site or others, and if not, would you?

Nope. I was curious if anyone had, looks like frogarama did and went well. I thought of it because this is the first online community I've been a part of that I actually find myself wondering about people in real life, and wouldn't mind doing it, depending on the users.

shareI was a member of a private forum many years ago, I went to at least two or three meetups we did for the members in the LA area. I even hosted one at the apartment I lived in at the time. It was a good group and we all knew each other very well.

shareFair enough. I've kept in touch with some people over the years - but not all of them.
Learned most of my skills of not meeting up with people from the stories of those who did.
A few marriages and children came from Internet communities I was a part of, certainly not all bad having real life experiences with online friends.

shareI've met dozens of chatters.... The last one was an editor at the SF Chronicle (during the last days of IMDB chat) and we only started talking because of our mutual love of similar movies/music... Then one day I mentioned SF, and he said he was there, so we met up and talked a bunch.
