Movies where children are killed...

It's not something you see very often I can name a few examples of this:

Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)

Pet Sematary (1989)

Jaws (1975)

When A Stranger Calls (1979)

The Changeling (1980)

City of God (2002)

The Untouchables (1987)

Do YOU know any more??

The Good Son (1993)

Pink Floyd - The Wall. The school children mincer.

Bram Stokers Dracula if babies count.

The Gate - Didn't his sister and friend die in that although they got resurrected at the end?

Mom and Dad.

I love both versions but I do prefer the 1990 one. It may be Tim Curry's best performance.

The Blob ('88) devoured a kid

Funny Games

Damien: The Omen II

I seem to recall at least one in Sleepy Hollow

Funny Games is a fave!

Which do you prefer, original or US? I kind of like the US one better. I find the acting more polished.

reply

I like both. I confess that I like the US version a little bit more. Those two guys were really something else! As much as I wanted to smack them, I couldn't help finding them funny!

reply

It's the most simultaneously terrifying and hilarious movie. I love how things take as long as they would in real life. Watching it with my friend we will call out "actual speed" every once in a while.

There ya go! That's why I find it so compelling. It isn't just a terrifying home invasion story. It has it's humor. The other reason why it's compelling is that it messes with the audience. We are also in on the games. Those guys invite us in.
I can watch it so often and I still pick up new things that I never noticed before. That is the best part of a good movie.

reply

It goes out of its way to not satisfy the audience, but in the end it still does.

reply

It does, but I am still curious about the next house....
For that matter, I'd love to know what went on at that first house.
Ah well, we can only guess. That could also be a part of the games.😊
