The Gauntlet (1977).

What do we all think of this fairly well known Clint Eastwood (he both directed AND starred in it) police action thriller with Sondra Locke in it (the two also co-starred and collaborated together in the legendary 1976 Western "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and later in the 4th part of the Dirty Harry series "Sudden Impact" (1983) )?

Also, although I am aware it has been brought up MANY times before, but did the final "bus shoot-out scene" REALLY spoil the movie THIS badly for some of you, or were you alright with it?

Like how, not only did 100 plus cops fire endless rounds of amunition at that bus with Eastwood and Locke trapped inside and not one of the bullets hit THEM, but also the fact that not ONE of those shooting cops ever managed to shoot at and shoot out any of the bus' TYRES and the bus just continued to drive past with so many bullet holes in it, was it really this problematic and ridiculous a scene to you? Not to mention the questionable part at the end of it when Locke's character gets the gun?

But besides the quibble about such scene, what did you, otherwise, think of the movie?

As for myself, I would qualify it being, err, OK at best, I am a HUGE Clint Eastwood fan and I love of course the original "Dirty Harry" but this is just alright, about a 5 or at MOST a 6 is what I will give it though, yes you would have to suspend disbelief and accept several of its flaws, especially in the aforementioned "bus sequence" but once you do, its kinda fun ride but nowhere near among legend's very best. But not necessarily his or even among his (fewer and far between) worse EITHER.

Honestly, I was disappointed it didn't have a Barbarian, Valkyrie, Elf or Wizard when I first watched it as a kid.
