Strangest casting choice?

Mine: Charlton Heston playing a Mexican in "A Touch of Evil."

reply

Henry Fonda playing Manny Balestrero in The Wrong Man (1956)

reply

Emma Stone playing an Asian woman in Aloha

reply

I always thought that William Holden was a poor choice as Hal in "Picnic"
I like William Holden, but he was just too old for that part.

reply

Bill didn't age well

reply

Gary Cooper was too old for Ingrid Bergman in For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943)

reply

Gary was good in High Noon. Grace Kelly was a child bride though. 😊

reply

old enough to be her father for sure.

reply

Great movie
And good point lol

reply

John Wayne in The Conqueror (1956)

reply

Forty-something Leslie Howard as Ashley Wilkes in "Gone With The Wind."

reply

Rooney Mara as Tiger-Lily in "Pan."

reply

That was absurd!
And according to Hollywood legend the shooting locale was the death of several people involved in the production
Seems they filmed that nonsense at an abandoned Atomic bomb site...

[deleted]

Gary Oldman in Tiptoes (2003)

reply

Gary Oldman as a rasta gangsta pimp in True Romance.

He musta thought it was white boy day. It ain’t white boy day, is it?

reply

That WAS a ridiculous chatacter and casting choice but i gotta admit i loved it lol😀

reply

Marlon Brando as a Japanese man in Teahouse of the August Moon.

Omar Sharif as Che Guevara

Most of the cast of Les Miserables

Max Von Sydow as Jesus

reply

Jim Caviezel as Jesus in The Passion of the Christ

reply

Good call since if Jesus did exist it's debatable he'd look like Caviezel or Kenny Loggins.

reply

Heh...i have been reading this whole thread to see if anyone would bring up Marlon in Teahouse...

Seems you beat me to the punch😉

reply

Denise Richards playing a nuclear physicist in The World is Not Enough (1999)

reply

Good for a laugh though.

reply

God was that awful!!

reply

What was even worse was they called her Christmas Jones just so they could make this joke: "I thought Christmas comes but once a year?" Even for a James Bond movie that's pretty groan-inducing ( Roger Moore, Clown Bond himself, would probably not have signed off on that one).

reply

Yes...terrible indeed
I was certainly no Moore fan but im sure you have it right

And the female character names were always hil...
'Pussy Galore?!?'

Im no crusader but damn that was a bit sexist lol

reply

How about "Octopussy"? Where were the censors that day?

reply

😂too funny!

Austin Powers really nailed this joke:

Robin Swallows
Alotta Fagina
Fuk Yu and Fuk Mi (sexy Asian twins of course!)
Felicity Shagwell

Im probably missing a couple
So great!

reply

LOL
Before "The Love Guru" derailed him forever Mike Myers was pretty funny sometimes.

reply

Oh i loved his heyday!
My kind of dopey humor😆 he slayed me

reply

"Wayne's World," "So I Married An Axe Murderer," his work on "SNL" -- much of it could be priceless in its stupidity.

reply

Im probably a bit 'lowbrow' and two-bit around here but damn do i love stupidity...

I swear i wouldnt even be alive if i wasnt big and stupid lololol😀

reply

You have to be incredibly bright to pull off the disarming stupidity Mike Myers, Monty Python, The Three Stooges, Rowan Atkinson and others managed.

reply

A fine list!
