Favorite movie poster?

While a terrible film I thought the teaser poster for "The Phantom Menace," with Anakin in the foreground and the shadow of Darth Vader behind him, was pretty great.

reply

I always thought the poster for The Exorcist was just perfect for that movie.

reply

Good call
I liked the tagline too

Simple yet effective...this movie scares the hell out of me to this day and i dont even believe in this stuff😁

reply

As Above So Below had a great poster but the movie was so-so.

reply

A fine poster for sure
I have yet to see the movie

reply

I like these kinds of posters. Simple and graphic. Plus it has skulls, I have a bit of an obsession with skulls :D

The movie is worth checking out If you like horror.

reply

I love horror

And yes 'graphic' is a good term for this sort of artwork...simple, visual, conveys a lot in a 'stand back and pay attention' way
Well done

reply

I'll vouch for "As Above So Below" too. I enjoyed that one.

reply

Thank you!

I've always loved the silhouette style posters of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. (I also much prefer the Japanes movie poster of Tangled over the American poster). I think Jaws also has an excellent poster. The poster of Fright Night is creepier than the movie itself!

reply

Some good choices there

I also find it charming that you really love the Disneys
Keep being you lady!

reply

Hey, Beauty and the Beast will always be my favourite movie together with Reservoir Dogs and The Usual Supects. Ain't nothing contradicting about that!

reply

I have not seem Beast but your other picks are perfecto!
Much like you😉

reply

Well duh!😘

reply

Im afraid to say im going sort of boring here and announcing my love for the Star Wars poster...
Not the Luke/lightsaber one but the other one
Luke is in the center aiming a blaster, flanked by Han and Leah firing away...
I own this poster, it is literally 10 feet away from me and YES, it is framed!

Class all day at the Shogun ranch lol

reply

I really like the Empire Strikes Back poster with Han leaning over Leia. I'd like to imitate that poster one day with you, Shogie!😘

reply

Hawt!!
Wait, am i Han or Leia in this scenario?
Heh...either way really

reply

Depends. Do you like cinnabuns even more than I do?

reply

Thats crazy!
'Cinnabuns' is my secret nickname for you!

What are the odds...

reply

Okay, then you can be Han and lustfully stare at my buns while drooling all over me.

reply

Way ahead of 'ya baby😚

reply

Reminds me of the great "Gone With The Wind" poster (which was probably their intention since Han and Leia are almost as quarrelsome a pair as Rhett and Scarlett).

reply

That's a good one! I bought a 3D lenticular version of that poster.

This is a preview image of it: https://www.lenticularpromo.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/animated_gifs/3D-Lenticular-Poster-Star-Wars-Lenticular-Printer-Lantor-Ltd.gif

reply

That is super cool!
I just have the paper one...

Now i have something to shop for!

One of my favorites I got for my Mom, who is a big fan of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

McFarlane Toys remade it in their 3D posters line, which are foot-tall models basically.

The Rocky Horror one looks amazing: https://mcfarlane.com/toys/3d-poster-the-rocky-horror-picture-show/ (the other pics show it at various angles)

The lips are perfectly sculpted, every little wrinkle. Even that white highlight, that looks like it's from a spotlight, is done with white paint. It's quite impressive to look at it up close and see that it's just sculpted, painted plastic, because it still looks like a photo of Tim Curry's mouth.

reply

Blue Velvet - the poster where you see half of Isabella Rossellini's face behind a chained door.

reply

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

A Clockwork Orange

Jaws

The Shining

Fatal Attraction

reply

I'll skip on this.
