I watched a lot of Vincent Price's movies when I was young. I recognize it, I'm sure I saw it, just don't remember much about it.

Are you asking us if we saw it, or are you comparing it to Saw?
😎
Yeah. Lovely strsnge movie, and SO stylish for low-budget horror!
Vincent Price was one of those actors who could improve anything he was given without changing a word of dialogue, and it's a pity he spent to much of his career having to.
Trying to figure out what year this movie was to have taken place. I guess the 1920s but some scenes looked more modern. Very low budget but good to see Joseph Cotten toward the end of his career.
shareYeah, well, the film was made in the 1971, and they didn't believe in historically accurate costumes then. At least not in low-budget horror films.
So objectively the film is a ridiculous mishmash of stylistic eras, but with the stylized cinematography it works to form a uniquely stylized, unreal film universe. Some films look great because they look like the real world, some films look great because they look nothing like it.

If he was like the mutant leader in Total Recall, he would be The Abdominal Dr. Phibes.
sharebest laugh in this movie:
Where are you going Trout ??
To the lavatory sir.
Highly appropriate.
I'd be up for a Saw film where it's Vinnie Price's voice when they play the tape recorder.
