Do you think you'll ever meet the person of your dreams?
I don't know if I'll ever meet her. I'm quite picky....

shareBest advice I can give you is don't look too hard.
The harder you look the more you won't find it.
I've been extremely fortunate enough to have had two incredible ladies in my life.
Both happened by sheer happenstance.
Both completely out of my league.
Just be you and things will happen on their own.
Thanks for the advice, dude. I'll keep it in mind.
shareYes
shareNope. I gave up on that a long time ago. It just hasn't worked out for me.
shareKawada, I share the same sentiments. I was married before, the dream turned out to be a nightmare!
I just prefer to live with my animals, a dog and some cats. I'm the typical "crazy cat lady." LOL But they don't break my heart or my spirits. They are great companions. I don't think I was ever destined for "true love".
Yeah. I used to really want it, but in the pursuit of it I've had almost nothing but awful experiences, the bad far outweighing the good. It's all just convinced me that I'm better off alone. Maybe not everyone is meant to find someone. I like my space anyway.
share Kawada, I don't know exactly what you mean by "the pursuit of it", but for me, the pursuit of it was such a waste of time. I could have been focusing on studying harder and working harder.
But those things often took a backseat to romance which turned out to be a monumental waste of time.
I don't resent those who have found it. But it never worked for me.
My one sister met the man of her dreams when she was 18. He was ten years older and already divorced. She was just crazy about him. But in his wisdom he knew that she was too young and inexperienced and needed to go to college and experience life.
He told her, "Come back in ten years and I'll marry you."
She did and he did! She went to school, travelled, dated other guys, etc. But he was the one guy she could never forget. Every time she came home, she'd call him up and they'd get together. He never remarried. Finally when she was about 28, he proposed.
For some people it works out that way. Not for me!
I don't know. I'm not even a picky person. I've been single most of my life, and that's likely not going to change anytime soon.
Most of my experiences with women haven't been very positive, and I'm very much content with being alone.
Finding a decent woman isn't an easy task, and you just have to accept that it may never happen.
Just go about you're life. Invest in yourself, hobbies, activities ect.....
Don't worry about finding anyone.
Good points, DarkKnight. As a woman, I discovered the same thing. An old, old friend of mine, whose since passed away 11 years ago last Thanksgiving used to ask me why I was never married. My response was "The guys my age all died in Viet Nam." It worked with him, and with other people, as well.
shareI wish that for everyone!
I not only met the person of my dreams, I married him.
Me too Margo. Though I was 39 when it happened.
I had a very bad first marriage but I'm glad I did because it helped me to understand exactly what I didn't want.
As that old saying goes, You have to kiss a whole lot of Frogs before you finally meet that Prince!
I've had my share of frogs! 🐸
As a woman, I'm also quite picky.
sharei have a couple of times... there are some good women out there...
just be ready and open to it, while enjoying your life...
Also... don't be a pussy 😉
