has the metoo movement turned into a manhunt now?

seems like if a person had a bad date or bad hookup its grounds for accusing someone of sexual assualt

I don't know if it's on line, but Andrea Peyser has a great editorial on this in today's (Jan 16th 2018) New York Post regarding Aziz Ansari. Scary shit here folks.

It looks like we're heading back to segregation, but it's going to be based on gender this time..

I think I'm going to invest some money in adult dolls (if you know what I mean). Anyone know of a good IPO coming up?

Sounds like a good investment to me.

Ir's been a manhunt since the beginning, only the reactionary and antidemocratic character of this "revolution" is only just now beginning to become apparent. Anyone even remotely questioning the motives of this movement has been treated with vindictiveness. It's only a matter of time before the #MeToo movement shoots itself in the foot. People are getting sick of seeing beloved artists suddenly erased from the cultural landscape overnight based on allegation without proof. The past few days there has been a vocal outcry from fans of Stan Lee, Aziz Ansari, and Woody Allen fearful the #MeToo movenent is overstepping its bounds. One or more of these artists is going to have a decent attornney able to prove the baselessness of some of the allegations. The #MeToo movement can't die soon emough.

Don't get me wrong.. I believe any man who assaults a woman should be outed. It's the definitions that have been obliterated.

But let's not forget that it's the "men" in this country who are slowly backing into the shadows hoping the enveloping plague doesn't reach them instead of fighting for what's right.

Meetoo can't do anything without the millennial men being complicit.

Holy shit yes.
They even crucified Matt Damon for daring to suggest that thereā€™s a spectrum of sexual misconduct.
Dustin Hoffman putting has hand on a PAā€™s thigh and telling a distasteful joke may be unprofessional, but itā€™s not criminal, and itā€™s hardly an equivalent to what Weinstein or worse, Cosby did.
And now Aziz Ansari is on the spot for what as far as I can tell, just amounts to a regetable date.
This trial by social media is getting to be completely fucking ridiculous.

reply

Yes, it has. If I reported every unwanted touch or comment in my life, we would be here for days.

reply

It really has.I'm glad for the genuine victims of the Harvey Weinstiens of the world to have their voices heard. But lately this movement has become an excuse for every woman whose ever felt jilted or objectified to throw mud on someones name.

We look back at the rediculous Salem witch trials where all that was required was an accusations to see someone condemned. How has this become any different?

Amen

The Anzi Ansari thing is classic ā€œhe said, she saidā€. Even if every word of what his accuser wrote was true, I think it was unfair to make it a public charge. Lots of people piling on her for that now. That said, it doesnā€™t paint a flattering picture of the dude at all.

Metoo started more as a workplace issue, where there is a heck of a lot less gray area. No one should be afraid of being pawed at in the office or in a professional setting.

Harvey Weinstein should have been called out many years ago. Shame on the people who kept quit.

Larry Nassar is an even bigger disgrace. Prison is not nice to child predators and rightfully so. Have fun, scumbag!
