What would you do if you woke up and discovered you were the only person on Earth?

How would you spend your time?

reply

Well first I'd probably pee my pants, and then say "Oh farts!" Boom!

I'd probably go back to sleep. No interruptions right?

It would depend.
Is everything still exactly the way it is now just with no people or is everybody just dead laying
all over the place.

I would get me a bunch of those sex dolls that look like real women and then I'd get me a whole lot of booze and drugs and I'd move into some mansion where I'd spend the rest of my (short) time all coked up freaking it out with those dolls.

reply

I would gather supplies
Fortify my location
Light a cozy fire
Relax

Within a few days id go scouting for others...even Road Warrior types would be fine...i cant be the last person alive!!!

What the hell is wrong with me!?!
I guess i just like people

That sounds like a logical and intelligent plan, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with you at all, my friend. I believe that is the general plan most people would follow.

Of course, I would gather up a bunch of different balls, paint faces on them, and give them names. I would name my number one guy "Gary". I'd name my number two guy "Wilson".

Damn i forgot about Wilson
He would be crucial to my plans
Good call!

It would be the busiest day/month in my life.

I would have to collect all the food I can, and then freeze it down wherever I could, even though I should be safe for atleast another 6 months on food from cans alone, I'm in very much hurry anyway to maintain the other types of existing food.
I would also change to a new home, located on a big hill with a big yard. This would give me a ideal visibility on possible wild animals, looking for food

When there is no more food to collect, I would have to collect wood instead. Since the powerplants ain't going to last very long without anyone monitoring them.

I would look around to find where Rod Serling and the camera crew were hiding.

"I would look around to find where Rod Serling and the camera crew were hiding."

LOL! Shit! That was pretty much what I was thinking......
My first thoughts.... [shrug]

I'd also trot right down to the place where they sold the reading glasses and load up on those before I trotted down to the library!

Ah, an excellent homage to "The Twilight Zone"!

That episode had a huge impact! As I grew older, I realized that we must plan ahead!
From the moment I started having to wear glasses, this episode kept flitting through my mind. One of my fears is that I may not be able to read again.....
Another is that I won't be able to hear an audio book!!!!

LOL over here, Kane!

Well, I'd have to learn how to grow food and feed myself. That would be priority one. I'd probably migrate to a warmer climate where nutritious food grows year-round; life where I live now would become quite difficult in the winter. I'd head to a library and grab as many books about growing and preserving food as I could.

But then I'd spend my leisure time pretty much the way I spend my free time now. Reading books, watching movies and playing video games. I could continue doing the latter two with the support of a generator. Maybe even solar power. Of course I'd have to learn how to work that stuff, but hey, I'd have nothing but time on my hands.

Really my life wouldn't be that much different. I lead a pretty solitary life now anyway. I don't really have anybody to miss. But I'd be liberated from all obligations and social expectations, such as the need to work (apart from the work needed to grow my own food and such). I think I'd do just fine.

Of course I'd probably die the first time I get a serious illness or injury and can't get any medical care because there are no more doctors.

Canned food lasts a very long time. That "expiration date" is actually just a sell by date, so you wouldn't go hungry anytime soon. Rice, beans and other dry goods in mylar bags with O2 absorbers can last 20+ years. But ya, fresh food is better.

Not sure where I would move. Definitely out of New England...Probably somewhere where you can grow food 3 seasons out of the year.

I'm honestly not sure how I would handle a permanent solitary lifestyle. Would I mentally break after a certain amount of time? Probably. Hopefully there would still be dogs.

Ok...for entertainment, I think I would definitely be tempted to mess around with some serious military hardware haha. That Last Man on the Earth episode where he was driving the stealth plane through the streets cracked me up!

reply

I would definitely get a dog. Maybe a few.

reply

I would die, I feed off attention.
