I say 'Spinal Tap'
1. Who the hell doesnt love satire
2. I LOVE METAL FOREVER!!! but it is all pretty ridiculous:/
3. Fran Drescher in a hilarious role (i admire this lady a bunch!)
4. The actual music led to cult status for a band that never was:)))
5. I admired the little moments (herpes sores during interviews, tasteless album covers...)
This may be my fave comedy...enlighten me MC'ers!

It's a very funny movie. I love the scene where Lee Marvin and his horse are leaning against a wall in a hang over stupor.
When he accepted his Oscar, Marvin remarked that he thought the horse deserved half of it.

Now that you mention it, I remember that about the horse. My dad had a great sense of humor and when he was in one of his silly moods, he'd imitate Lee Marvin's drunken antics. Lee Marvin played a great drunk!

Savage Steve Holland's masterpiece... Better Off Dead.

I adore John Cusack's performance in this film. In a town that is so weird, he plays it so straight, and it makes such a good contrast between him and everyone he interacts with.

***SPOILERS***

It has so many great scenes, but my favorite is the scene where he is going to burn himself alive but instead gets pulled to the table, by his crazy mother, to eat dinner with the neighbors. He sits there, wearing a death shroud, a tie for a headband, and a jar of gasoline, and no one, save the foreign exchange student love interest, thinks it's unusual or says anything about it. It is hysterical, IMO.

I have always loved Airplane (titled 'Flying High' here in Australia) with Leslie Nielsen. Never a dull moment. Those two Jive dudes always put a smile on my face.

Shaun of the Dead. My brothers and I quote that movie quite often. I'm not sure if you've seen it or not but it's a British zombie comedy.

Ah, yes. Blazing Saddles. I haven't seen it in years. If I watched it again, I wonder if it would hold up and be as funny as I remember?? Never saw Young Frankenstein - just never got around to it, I guess.

The Birdcage has become the comedy that consistently makes me laught with every viewing. Great cast, and everyone is on top of their game. The dinner scene is pure hilarity!

Surprised no one mentioned any of the Monty Python films. Anyway, any movie with "Monty Python" in its title deserves the handle "One of the funniest films ever."

Arrested Development and I Love Lucy (yes TV shows but at their best they're as amusing as anything film has ever offered)

I love to laugh but so few comedies are funny to me. The only 3 that come to mind that really made me laugh are,

1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
2. Life of Brian
3. Afterhours

Oh, and Harold and Maude.
