More i hear about these sexual misconduct stories, the less i care.

Frankly the more i hear about the stories, the less i care. Anybody can accuse anyone of anything. And when you have people with deep pockets there even more of a reason to take advantage of someone. I dont know if these people are guilty or innocent. But i like more evidence than just somebody say so. But since these people waited 20 to 30 years to say anything. There is no evidence. And i still believe in something called innocent until proven guilty. A Concept nobody seems to believe in anymore. There nothing wrong with being skeptical about such allegations. The Justice System is run on Evidence, not hearsay.

Yep, an accusation isn't evidence. I don't know who is guilty or innocent, not for me to figure out, but I know the accusers should have come forward when it happened. And in some of these cases, nothing actually happened ... it almost could have maybe happened but didn't, pfft.

You make a very sensible point. There isn't much evidence of sexual misconduct in these recent cases against celebrities. The allegations basically come down to his word against her or vice versa. And these cases are happening so often that I no longer care. Hollywood is an industry full of morally corrupt individuals. Many of them are extremely talented although not role models at all so in order to enjoy their work, you kind of have to separate the artist from the drama of their shitty personal lives. Some of their indiscretions or crimes I could forgive, but sexual assault and child molesting is something that I cannot look past so if it is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person is guilty, I will never pay to see their work or support them in any way.

I'm not clear if you don't care, or you're skeptical?

If an accusation turns out to be true, then do you care?

That sounds like an inability of you to keep your emotions out of your thinking and getting caught up and consumed with something to the point where you have to run away. The Hollywood thing is important for everyone, especially women.

I think that is well put. There could be false allegations and then lives are being ruined for no reason but someone wanting something out of it for themselves. I'm not saying to not believe them, I'm just saying I agree that it should be innocent until proven guilty. Still a hard situation because its so hard to prove years later.

Its just not right that these things have to happen. People should know how to treat one another, we are not animals.

No disrespect, but it sounds like you care a fair bit.

About the accused more than the victims, though - and that's the whole issue with people coming forward. Which, in say the case of Harvey Weinstein, some did come forward at the time, and were either paid off for their silence under threat of losing their jobs, or were simply not helped, and there is evidence of this. But people know they aren't going to be believed from the start, so they don't come forward until they know there's no immediate threat to them.

I definitely think it's normal to be skeptical because where there's money, there's greed.

But saying you don't care about the victims because the burden of proof is on them and/or because they waited too long to say something isn't fair to them. People get scared. People not being able to pay bills, rent, eat or work in their chosen field ever again due to the threat of someone with real power, after that person has sexually assaulted them, is an understandable fear. And the more people come forward, the more valid the point becomes, not less.

And in many of these cases, the accused parties aren't denying something happened.
