Close call

So i was crossing the road in the right way...i mean on the crooswalk...before i did that,i assured myself first...right at the half way through, sudenly a car passed at...i think 10 cm in front of me...that was close.Do you have such irresponsable drivers where you live?

reply

Jeez buddy be careful!!
Glad youre ok:)
Yes... They drive like wild animals here!

reply

I was careful...

reply

Please be more so...we need our Croft around here!!

reply

I think you'll be fine...without me...that sounds bad...thanks anyway.

reply

Most people are on the phone when they're driving. Don't trust anyone behind the wheel of a car.

reply

Nope...i do not

reply

I watch vehicles very closely when crossing the road, I do not rely on them to follow the rules.

reply

All the time!

reply

The same exact thing happened to me last month. The driver didn't even slow down. I guess people are still getting used to rules, and crosswalks, and not killing pedestrians.

A few months ago they were even talking that if you get hit on a crosswalk, as a pedestrian, it's your fault if you didn't signal the driver that you are about to cross. I guess standing on the damn thing isn't clue enough.

reply

It isn't the first time that hapeness to me...

reply

Yep, I see close calls all the time, and experience them too. If I am close enough, I like to slap the back of a car so the driver gets to hear it.

Many times I have wished I was carrying a golf club.

reply

Tell me about it...i was close enough to trow a rock in his car...damn bastard...sorry.

reply

Irresponsible drivers and pedestrians both. Especially in the city, people like to walk out into the street while giving all their attention to the almighty phone.

reply

I wasn't even looking on my phone...i was talking with someone on the phone, and paying attention at the road,as always do...the next thing i know,this...idiot nearly hit me.

reply

Well I'm glad he missed! You definitely have to assume that they are not going to see you or stop in order to be safe.

reply

Whoa, glad to hear he missed you and you're all right, Croft. That was a very close call.

Rude/careless/reckless drivers are world-wide. Agree with Texas, unfortunately we all have to walk defensively.

reply

I always stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. What I worry about is the driver approaching from behind. Is he paying attention? Does he see the pedestrian crossing in front of me? My fear is that the pedestrian clears my car but gets hit by the idiot driving through the crosswalk in the lane next to me. It's one of the reasons I'm extremely careful when crossing the street.

reply

So true. I was rear-ended last year at a toll plaza. I'm sorry, but you didn't see the 200 foot wide, 20 lane obstruction with all kinds of signs and pretty lights in front you?

I have a theory that a person's innate level of insanity is exponentially increased when they get behind the wheel.
