Hi,friends...i don't know so much about movies as the rest of you...but,can anyone tell me what makes an actor or actress "the best"?I mean there are academy movie awards like the best actor in a drama...what makes that actor "the best"?
shareIt depends what you mean. Do you mean the best as per the standards of other actors, as per how many Oscars they own, or what?
Otherwise, yeah, of course it's opinion.
And in my opinion, the best is when it doesn't seem like they're acting. I don't mean when a person is playing a role so close to themselves that it isn't acting. I mean when someone can play any type of character and you believe they are that character - when they can convince you so seamlessly, so flawlessly, that you cry, laugh and scream along with them.
I mean...you know..."the nominnees are A,B,C...and the winner is A"...what makes A "the best"then others?

Well, money is always important in Hollywood, but there are awards in all kinds of industries. It's just a way to show appreciation.
The movie they were in, the director they worked with and votes from the academy. It really comes down to the script as well because it depends on what they have to work with to get an Oscar.
shareIf I like them they are the best, if I don't they are the worst. Then I look for objective reasons to support my subjective conclusions so I can argue about it on the internet. ;)
