What did you watch this week& (10-01/10-07)

With a busy week at work and the hockey season that began, I didn't watch a lot this week.

Terminator 3 Rise of the machines (2003 DVD): Overall, an average and enjoyable action movie with acceptable special effects and mediocre acting. But I just don’t like the silliness and crappy one-liners from our beloved robot. 5.5-6/10

XXX: Return of Xander cage (2017 Netflix): I never saw the original and never felt the need to see it. The sequel is the only movie from Ice Cube I never saw. I don’t really know why I watched this one but it ended up being a good parody of the James Bond tradition; kick ass, get the girl and look dope while doing it. Seeing Michael Bisping and Tony Jaa together was a real treat and Donnie Yen was at his best. I liked the characters, I laughed and the action was not bad at all. It’s nothing ground-breaking but it’s a positive surprise for me. 6.5/10

Super Troopers (2001 Netflix): I didn’t really enjoyed that one the first time but it was a bit better on rewatch. There is a few good moments and I laughed a few times but Im not a fan of the cast. 6/10

Strange Days: Love it 8.5/10

T3 was ok. Just OK. We already established Arnie is a joke in it.

Super Troopers I've seen, don't remember much about it. I think I enjoyed it fine though.

No movies this week for me.

I think I saw the two latest episodes of Outlander both this week. I like the show, the episodes were fine. They're rushing through the story though IMO.

I also went down a Youtube spiral with the latest series of Mock the Week. Some laughs were had.

That's pretty much it.

I just remembered. I watched Wind River (2017) this week. Shows you how memorable that flick was. A solid "meh". But I must be in the minority with that opinion because it has a 7.9 score on IMDb...

hehe, Thanks Mina, have a good week.

Thanks, SK. Have a great week yourself :)

I thought Renner was great

The performances were good. There was nothing outright bad in the film. It's just that everything felt like I've seen it before, and I failed to engage in the story, except for a few scenes. I was expecting more from the guy who wrote Sicario.

T3 would have been awesome if it had been the first "Terminator-as-the-good-guy" movie, but they burned up most of that material with T2.

And Claire Danes cried beautifully, as always.

yeah, I agree

Slow week for me as well.

Suffragette-2015-Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter- About the women's suffrage movement in the early
1900's. More so the right for women to vote. This has a good cast and gives a glimpse of what women went
through to get such a basic right. Sad thing is that many countries still didn't give women the right to
vote until well beyond the time frame of this movie. 7

Three-Extremes-directors-Fruit Chan, Takashi Miike, Chan-wook Park. 3 great Asian directors in this
horror anthology. You have to like and appreciate Asian horror to like this movie. Often disturbing but
never dull. All three stories are different from each other and all very good.
Dumplings gives you a little info at a time until you figure out what is going on. Then at the end gives you
another surprise.
Cut is the second story is pretty straight forward. Torture and blood.
Box is the third is more of an artistic showing into what these movies can be.
All beautifully crafted-7.5

Continuing Sunny and started season 2 of People of Earth.

"I have contained my rage for as long as possible, but I shall unleash my fury upon you like the crashing of a thousand waves! Begone, vile man! Begone from me! A starter car? This car is a finisher car! A transporter of gods! The golden god! I am untethered, and my rage knows no bounds"

Three Extremes: When I read the critics for this movie I immediately ordered it. When I received it I invited a friend over warning him that we were going to watch some of the sickest stuff ever. Unfortunately, the first story was boring and repetitive ( 5/10), the second story was fun but not disturbing (6/10) and the last was a nice but standard horror story (6.5/10).

A major disappointment for me.
