Do you put more weight into RT critics score or fans?
Like if the critics say it's good but audience not so much, is that a worse sign than the other way around?

shareThe fans,always...but i like to judge a movie after i see it for myself.
shareI very rarely go to RT, and never look at the score /to form an opinion/. I also don't put much weight on general audience reception. I just go by if it interests me and take a gamble.
shareI balance the two against each other. If the audience is higher I'll be like "oh they were knit picking" or if its an action movie with a low critic rating but high audience rating I understand that critics HAD to see a genre they dont' like, whereas the users are fans who LIKE these movies, so it was preaching to the choir.
If critics have it super low and the fans okay, I feel its a movie that doesn't stand up upon reflection, which I don't like. Ive seen movies, enjoyed them, thought about the plot and then went 'oh shit, its a bad movie'.
Yeah, I'm pretty much with you MinaV.
shareMy answer would be 0%.
I don't read reviews of any movies.
The only time I will trust in reviews is if I know the person and trust in their opinion.
Luckily I've been able to find some of those people here. People who know my taste and people I trust
because we have similar tastes.
Sometimes you're lucky to find a "critic" who has similar tastes and you can trust. Most of the time you can't
Since I've stopped reading reviews and listening to critics I have enjoyed 90% of the movies I watch.
Sometimes you still get burned. This is a much better average than before.
I like to read/hear why and how; I prefer specifics and detached analysis. If a critic or fan is simply being moronic and just does the thumbs up/thumbs down thing I ignore because that's just a form of emotional flatulence.
sharecritics, especially when i see a disparity...
sharei avoid professional critics. The only writing that is more pretentious than movie reviews are music reviews. I will read audience reviews occasionally but I don't rely on them.
I have no regard for average number ratings because those are manipulated by professional shills.
Neither. Humans are infinitely different from one another. I learned at a very young age that a lot of critically acclaimed films were tortuous for me to watch and panned films ended up being my favorites.
Critics have zero value to me.
I weigh both critics and fans, and then decide. I give a lot of weight to the late, great Roger Ebert for any films which he reviewed.
