Haven't seen it... never heard of it! I suppose I had ought to check this out!
I just assumed that you were talking to me! My first name is .... you guessed it!
Wanda.
YIKES! I will say no more! Channing, it is!
Who the hell is Angela? I'm lost.....or just plain stupid.
Both, in my case! LOL!
So sorry to spoil the mystery. I hate that when it happens.
You don't know Angela Channing, the wealthy and powerful matriarch of Falcon Crest who bears a striking resemblance to Hollywood legend Jane Wyman?! Wah?!
That one (I haven't seen) - seems like a professionally made and serious piece of film, whereas the aforementioned "Wanda: The Sadistic Hypnotist" (1969) is basically a very silly slice of psychedelic darkly comedic exploitation movie trash, but Iactually DID like it, so if you're a fan of movies by Russ Meyer, as well as the "Olga" series and that of "Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS" and its sequels, I DO recommend giving it a look.
It also dares to strangely ask THIS question in a movie-esque sort of way - as it has both female AND a male "villains" in them doing wrong things, that is - if we must treat both groups of wrong doers the SAME, and the movie heavily implies - no, and the female wrong doers in the end are forgiven for their deeds and whats more - they let go (SPOILERS ALERT) at the end of their male hostage, give him CURE for his ordeal and he leaves HAPPILY without holding a grudge on them or feeling much humiliation HIMSELF, and the male scumbag gets returned to a psychiatric hospital.
Of course that movie wasn't meant to be realistic or life-affirmingly thought-provoking, but approached in the right spirit, its worth a look, but real life of course does NOT happen LIKE this...
Something ALSO tells me that the "Wanda" character of THIS movie, a year later by Barbara Loden, is mostly different from the one here, as she is mostly apparently in this 1970 movie a victim of difficult political and social circumstances, whereas in that movie, she was crazy but also a bit of a victim when that psycho loose cannon enters their castle.
