Just read that a few hours ago. Sad but not unexpected. He was suffering from Alzheimer's disease for quite a while.
A great voice and many memorable songs. Some of my favorites are Wichita Lineman, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Galveston, Country Boy. So many great songs!

RIP Mr. Campbell, thanks for all the great music.

I just heard about this. A wonderful musician. I also remember his show.

If you haven't heard him do this song please listen. It will bring tears to your eyes.
He wanted to make it before he totally lost his memory.

Terrific song, thanks for sharing.

It gets me every time I hear it. He knew what he was battling and what his family was and would go through.

There was a documentary he did about the time this song came out. He talked about how his kids also having
this gene. I've had a couple people in my family go through this. To watch them is absolutely gut wrenching.
Such a horrible disease.

I hadn't heard he was suffering from Alzheimer's, or that he just passed away.

That song is incredible. His voice sounds just as good, maybe even a little better although different, as ever.

RIP, Glen.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I only just recently learned that he was suffering from Alzheimer's.

As with pjpurple, I too always liked that Wichita lineman song. I don’t think that I ever really knew what it was about, but the melody and lyrics were sort of enchanting to me as a kid.

He was a studio musician back in the 60's and 70's because he played guitar so well, along with Hal Blain on drums and James Burton on guitar, those guys were the giants of recording and you heard them on just about every hit song of that era, I met him once some time ago, he was a typical down home Arkansawian gentleman, super nice guy from what I could tell, RIP Glen.
