They don't care about "Americans." This is just to protect their image because they are guilty.

“Those people fight every single day, but like Paul Ryan said today, like Nancy Pelosi said, they said, ‘We fight tooth and nail, but we don’t forget that we are people. We are friends. We are families. We are colleagues.’ And I feel like they could do a better job of saying that to Americans, going like: ‘Hey, we fight. You can fight, but don’t forget at your core you are Americans. Don’t ever forget that,’ ” he said.

Shame that that needed to be said. It should be obvious. You cannot divide Americans. We stick up for our own. We have a strong national and cultural identity. Don't ever pick on Americans or it politicians. Perhaps now people will think long and hard before committing another terrorist attack against the US and it's citizens because you cannot destroy the US. Ever!
