Sex and violence
I just read an article about sex and violence in movies and how they sell 'em.
So have you ever watch a movie without sex nor violence whatsoever?

Well, I'm stumped lol. I guess because sex and violence are a part of life that it's only natural that they are in almost all movies (to one degree or another). Even children's animated movies have some type of violence in them.
share Sure I've seen movies without them. A lot of the old classic musicals for example, they might have a love story but no sex. Singin in the Rain.
Even La La Land had no sex in it. There is a scene where they are getting out of bed so it's assumed they probably have a sexual relationship since they are dating for a while, but it's never shown, nothing more than a kiss is ever shown.
Lots of classic comedies too, Abbot and Costello movies have no sex and very limited violence (if any). Physical comedy, pratfalls, I wouldn't really call that violence. The Three Stooges is violent though, but not Abbot & Costello.
Kids movies, animation, they usually don't have violence although Bambi's mom does get killed, so it's not 100% true.
"My Dinner with Andre". Just two guys talking, no sex or violence.
Animations for kids do have violence, just a little mild and cartoony. Tom & Jerry, The Lion King, Despicable Me, Toy Story, Up... a few examples I currently have in mind.
I think maybe Teletubbies doesn't have sex nor violence.
That was my thought, too - many older movies had neither. Implied perhaps, but not shown. Today? Not so much.
I suppose most younger people are not aware of the Hays Code.

Many movies don't have them. In todays movies these are no longer strong selling points, as sex and violence are everywhere. In most movies these things follow naturally from the plot but others use them for their exploitational value (like horror and action movies). I think that it is artistically cheaper to do violent films, and by violence I mean also the cartoonish battles in superhero movies. Don't mind it though.
shareI'm really stumped. I was going to say "Babe" (the talking shepherd pig). Then I remembered
the wolves killed Maaaaa!!!
😥
