Joseph Kosinski Frontrunner to Direct 'Top Gun 2' Starring Tom Cruise (EXCLUSIVE)
I've just gotten so tired of Tom Cruise and his action movies. MI Rogue Nation was probably the best Tom can do for now. I'd like to see Tom in other genres particularly drama or comedy. I loved him in Tropic Thunder and that movie he did with Cameron Diaz...I forgot the title.
shareVanilla Sky... LOVE that movie. And the original Spanish version as well.
And Rain Man is superb.
I hear so many recommendations for Vanilla Sky. Will have to check it out.
shareIt's a crazy ride but worth the trip!! The first time I was watching it I didn't know if I was really liking it. But when the end of the movie came, I was like okay that was something!! It may take a second viewing to really soak it all in.
And be sure to check out the original film by Alejandro Amenábar. Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) 1997
Both are must sees....
Oh I had forgotten that Cruise and Diaz costarred in two films together. No I didn't mean Vanilla Sky. I meant Knight and Day.
Vanilla Sky was alright. It had some dark comedy moments.
I liked Cruise in Jerry Maguire, Magnolia, The Firm, A Few Good Men, Far and Away, Interview With A Vampire and so many other dramas or drama/comedies from early in his career.
I guess Tom Cruise would rather stay within the action adventure genre.
And I'm stuck watching his old films.
Because that where the money is. He's much more than action though unfortunately.
shareHe was great in Tropic Thunder. I also liked The Last Samurai a lot, and that surprised me because I went into it expecting the opposite.
I agree with you generally. Getting sick of most "action" movies unless they really bring something special.
Damn, I meant to mention The Last Samurai!! Great film!!
shareCasting Tom Cruise for The Last Samurai was one of the best decision the movie made. The short stature of Cruise is enhancing the dominating position of the Japanese general. He looks bigger and taller and calmer, more intimidating in every way. Great stuffs!
