Rich Older Woman/Younger Guy

I imagine this a lot (wouldn't do it), so maybe there's a great movie out there so I can continue to dream.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

American Gigolo?
I can't remember if any of his clients were older though.

reply

Bingo!!

pretty good movie

Sunset Boulevard, The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, Unfaithful... I don't think any of these would make you want to do this though.

reply

In The Graduate, benjamin wasn't getting any money or financial support from Mrs. Robinson. he was just fucking her because he was young and horny.

reply

Yes... I just tried to think of older woman films... there are very few films about this subject. Reversal of Fortune seemed like it might be about this subject but they were similar age.

"You got yourself a real penthouse here Cass!"

In case you didn't happen to notice it... ya big Texas longhorn bull, I'm one hell of a gorgeous chick!

reply

Lol! You gotra love Cass

White Palace with Susan Sarandon and James Spader, although he was a wealthy executive and she was a waitress.

reply

That's even better!!!

In Wild Things (1998), Theresa Russel's character had exactly that type of relationship with a handsome younger man and it's an all around good movie as well.

reply

Sonny with James Franco? Maybe not though...
Alfie with Jude Law and Susan Sarandon maybe?

reply

Is "Alfie" the remake of the 1960s movie starring Michael Caine?

reply

Yes, but it has more of a comic tone than the original if I remember. The original was funny, but also bittersweet and dark in places.

reply

Yes, it was light-hearted at times (especially when he talked to the audience), but it did have it's serious points.. That's one movie that started out rough, but ended with a 7/10 :)

I hesitate to watch the original.. The only remake I loved was "The Outrage" which was the English version of "Rashomon" which at least makes sense because of people's lack of interest to read a few lines on a screen, but most importantly, it was just as great! Martin Ritt is another underrated director, but since he was blacklisted, his movies didn't get any advertising money, but for the few who have seen his movies, most are great... "Hombre" is another really good one, but he has many.

Ok, Newman sounded silly with a Mexican accent, but for millions who won't read subtitles....

Every other remake is awful..

You should definitely check out the original. Just keep in mind that it's set to 1960's sensibilities and not today's. Give it a shot!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

reply

Yes. I liked it. It may not be exactly what you're looking for. But it's worth a watch.

The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone. Vivian Leigh and Warren Beatty

reply

I saw this yesterday.. It was pretty good. Seemed a bit stretched, and it seemed a lot longer than 1hr 39 mins.

Also, Beatty should have just been an American ex-pat, the accent is lousy, and it's kinda ridiculous. Hard to take it seriously :)

reply

I agree about the accent. He sure was gorgeous, though. And to me, VL is the prettiest actress ever.

Wings of the Dove has the wealthy heiress pursued by the fortune hunter, but most likely they're of a similar age or he's older.

Goodbye Again has Ingrid Bergman as the older woman, who's quite well off, and Anthony Perkins as her young ardent lover, but his motive wasn't money.
