IMDB (and now MC) has a Shop Talk area. One for budding directors, actors and writers:

Of course, many people still don't know about the site yet so the responses are minimal right now. But you can look through some of the older threads and perhaps find some valuable resource and inspiration. They always say it's better to remind yourself "we're in this together" with other aspiring students and hobbyists who also share your passion/interests. You got into this for a reason (you were moved by something and want to give back and let others experience those feelings you had). By sharing the pain/discouragement, you kind of minimize it and see it differently too.
I see LeiaOfLothlorien also has a couple thread in the Writers section (sorry I cannot offer any help. I don't know the answer to the question and do not want to give bad advice). But hopefully others see this and the Shop Talk area can start humming to life again. I remember back in the IMDB days it actually had a nice community of people posting fairly often. Not as hopping as Film General or Movie Talk, but still a sizeable group for the type of subforum that it was.
