First one I thought of when I saw your post was Vanilla Sky!!

TECH SUPPORTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

reply

Need to rewatch that one sometime.

Forgot to add From Dusk Till Dawn. I didn't know anything about it when I saw it and thought that it was just a typical Tarantino type of film until halfway through it.

reply

Yeah it's interesting how Tarantino did that, it's almost like to seperate movies in a way. The movie just does a total 180.

reply

😜

reply

Watched it and own it!!!! I like it too. But since I saw Vanilla Sky many times before I saw the original, I'm partial to Vanilla Sky more. 😊

reply

😜

reply

Exactly. I agree!! My only exception to that (for me) is if the original is an old black and white, I tend to lean more towards the remakes. (Not very recent remakes though). Remakes made in the 70s and 80s were labors of love, you could say. But very recent remakes are all about big CGI fests. No heart and soul.

reply

😜

reply

I saw the original first. I liked that one better. I liked both though.

reply

😜.

reply

You're not bothering me. This is what we are all here for for right lol??

2 examples would be:
Scarface. The Pacino version is better for me.
Against All Odds is better for me than Out of the Past.
I'm afraid these are the same 2 examples I said on your original post though lol.
But, uh, I saw both of these remakes first LOL πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

reply

Sure, I like Tom. 😊

reply

😜

reply

I like milla jovovich,so,yes,i enjoi watching movies with her, especially resident evil series, call it my quilty pleasureπŸ˜‰

reply

😜

reply

And she has two more projects to be released soon πŸ˜‰

The extraordinary is in what we do,not who we are.

reply

I love The Fifth Element!!!! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

reply

Yes, that's a good topic. As far as Tom, I like him, but I don't watch movies specifically because he's in them. Most of his movie just happen to be good. Actors whose movies I watch specifically because they are in them would be Ralph Fiennes and Colin Farrell. Some of Ralph's movies I would not have been interested in them had he not been in them.

reply

I prefer Abre Los Ojos too. Especially for the lead actor in that. I can't remember his name but his performance was so good.

reply

😜

reply

Maybe Brothers, starring Tobey Maguire and Gyllenhaal? I didn't know it was a remake. And haven't seen the original either.

Or maybe Scorsese's Cape Fear?

reply

😜

reply

Do you mean, did I see a remake first and I think it's the superior to the original? Offhand, I can't think of one but I've seen so many remakes and I had no idea there was an original.

reply

Synecdoche, New York

That is all..

reply

I couldn't get into that one at all. Turned it off in the end.

reply

Well it's certainly not for everybody. It's one of my faves though :) Maybe revisit it in a few years and see if you change your mind about it.

reply

I might try it again some day. Same with Inland Empire which was also so WTF I couldn't finish it and I like David Lynch films normally but that one was just....... Seriously!!! WTF!!!

reply

Eraserhead is WTF all the way through LOL!!!!

reply

The Forbidden Room

reply

I started watching that and got interrupted after about 10 mins and forgot to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder.

reply

It's really just a whole lot of fun, but pretty hard to see it on a first viewing. A visual feast. The greatest film about baths ever, no doubt.

reply

The Game

reply

This reminded me of another one: House of games (1987)
Also: Triangle (2009) and Predestination (2014)

reply

Yes, House of Games was another good WTF movie.

reply

Triangle and Predestination are good. Watched Predestination again the other day.

reply

I spoiled Predestination for myself in the weirdest way, and I'm so bummed I couldn't properly experience the reveal.

reply

Shhhhh!

So how did you spoil it (with spoiler added at beginning)?

reply

A while back I had watched a lecture of Dr Michio Kaku, in which he retells the story the movie is based on. So watching the movie I thought "Wait, I'm not smart in figuring this out. I know this story". I had to stop the movie half way through to remember where I knew it from.

reply

Bummer.

reply

Michio Kaku is the best. Sorry he spoiled the movie for you.

reply

Something similar happened to me with 6th Sense. Too bad those things can't be undone. :(

reply

Here's one that has a few WTF moments (the whole movie is WTF lol). It's most definitely not for everyone. It's very complex but I read up on it several times before I was finally able to see it so I knew what it was about/what was coming so I had a good grasp of what was going on. Very graphic. I love Ralph Fiennes so I had to have this movie in my collection. Here is the full movie. For some reason, the sound is out of sync with the picture at times.

The Baby of MΓ’con

reply

Peter Greenaway - Say no more.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

reply

How about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

Ooh.. and The Lobster. That's a good WTF movie!

reply

Yeah wasn't it?

reply

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky is one hell of WTF movie lol.

reply

Ricky-hi is good but the story is simple. Didn't get the Wtf effect. I did with holy motors and also, any Takashi Miike joint.

reply

I'm not sure on the precise definition of a WTF movie, but I won't let that stop me ;)

The Skin I Live In (La piel que habito, 2011)
Coherence (2013)
Enemy (2013)
Zoom (2015)
Begotten (1990)
And V/H/S 2 has a pretty cool segment (Safe Haven) that maybe WTF.

reply

Anything that makes you go WTF at some point in it or all the way through. :)

reply

In that case, all the above :)

Plus a "bad" addition of, I assume, every Neil Breen movie (only seen two). Just for shear bewilderment of the level of "filmmaking".

reply

Never heard of him but from his IMDB photos, he doesn't seem to have many facial expressions... lol

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3718935/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

reply

Not much of an acting range either. But what he lacks in skill, he makes up for with passion lol

reply

I love The Skin I Live In. It's a great WTF movie.

reply

I loved it too. And it's one of the rare occasions where I liked the movie better than the book (don't ask me anything about it though, because it's been a while :D).

reply

I had no idea that was a book. I'll check it out. Don't you feel like Antonio Banderas makes such great Spanish films but his US film roles are all sort of mediocre? He's a wonderful actor. I liked him that movie especially.

reply

I liked him in The Skin I Live In a lot as well. I don't know in how many other Spanish movies I've seen him in, though (probably a few other Almodovar movies). I think that if an actor is not American, they have an option to go make more... artful projects in their home country (that's not to say that Americans can't make artful movies). So if they break into Hollywood, maybe they use that to make money, and just take any project. I've noticed a similar thing with Penelope Cruz and a bunch of others. And they are probably limited to certain roles if they aren't native English speakers and can't get rid of their accent.

reply

Resident Evil : The final chapter,great finale😎

reply

Still have to see that one.
