Bars in movie theaters

Yay or Nay?
The theater closest to me that I usually go to (maybe twice a month) has a full bar. Have you been to theaters that have one? Beer and popcorn goes great together!
The only thing is, it is separate from the candy/popcorn cashier, so you have to wait in 2 lines. I guess because the kids who work the main concessions counter cannot sell or even ring up alcohol, so they need an over-21 bartender. Sometimes the bartender is really slow and I have to skip it so I don't miss the beginning of the movie. But if I have enough time to wait in two lines, I do enjoy an adult beverage with my movie.

Several theaters near me have bars, but you can't bring the drinks into the movie; have to finish it before you go in

Oh wow that is a huge bummer. Are they afraid that younger people will get an adult to buy the drink and then the younger person drinks it once they are in the dark?
That would make me never order drinks there. If I can't drink it during the movie, what's the point. I don't want to hang out in a movie theater lobby.

If people want to drink they can go to a bar or beer store after. People want to watch a movie in peace and quiet without drunk morons ruining it for everyone else.

Never tried it but sounds good. I'd probably try it with a comedy movie or something for my first visit. I'm afraid I'm watching a more serious movie like Dunkirk, and the bartender is distracting everyone or people are especially chatty and I can't hear the movie.

Well it depends how the place is set up. At my local theater, the bar is in the lobby near the popcorn and stuff, so it's not a distraction during the film. You just buy your drink and take it into the movie. In some places they have table service in the theater with waters and stuff and that could definitely be a distraction.

There is a bar in our most recent movie theaters , it is fine. It's in the lobby.
