I joined here I think it was the night before IMDB comments closed down. Just like on IMDB haven't posted much in latter years due to work schedule and being busy in general but I do lurk on here every now and then. Loving this place but forcing myself to manage how long I spend on here at a time because I can spend hours just reading through comments in turn getting distracted. When I get more spare time I want to try and post at least 2 or 3 comments every day and contribute more.
shareI was here on the third day of this month. I would've came sooner, but I didn't know it started in Feb. I was still using imdb until the night it went offline. Also I looked around, joined the others and they didn't seem like my thing. This place was different and I loved it.

shareI don't know how to find my join date, since I didn't give an email when I first joined. My first post says " a month ago" but does not give the date. I joined the day after the imdb boards closed.
That is something I would request t change- show exact date/time stamps, not stuff like ' a week ago' or 'a month ago'.
Signed in here the day after IMDB forums closed. Was just the search box for movies/series/people with the partly archived boards from IMDB, and a very plain looking general discussion board here then.
So nice to see how this site has developed and grown since those early days!

Seriously though, so much really has changed in such a short amount of time. It's amazing just how much Jim and his staff have accomplished! I am forever grateful. Like everyone else, I felt such a huge void when I heard that IMDb was ending it's message boards. I'm not really into other social media. I just want to talk to people about films and TV. The added bonus is getting to know one another.
I came here right after IMDb shut down and made my first post about it. I had heard about this site only two days before. I didn't really care for the other sites I'd looked into. I liked MC immediately. I've read/posted here since.
shareI think I joined right before IMDb closed because I found out it closed early from this site. I'm grateful there were some other people to commiserate with at that time. Also, I'm grateful to Jim for archiving so many boards.
