reply

nothing can go far enough for me.
but i was a little sickened when someones brain was bashed in Irreversible.

reply

Nothing can go too far for me.

THIS is a too far list? No way, most of these are very tame.

reply

I agree completely, TAME !
The first time I ever viewed The Human Centipede ( especially the scene where the doctor talked about having to correct a bowel movement problem ), I had to turn it off and go to bed. I managed to work my way through it the following day out of sheer curiosity about the ending.

reply

"The Human Centipede"...now there's a nasty film! And to think...I watched the second one too!? Good grief, I'm a glutton for punishment...lol. Never did watch the third one.

reply

If you think That's bad..
some guy at work who used to ask me out on dates to like dinner and the beach, once randomly asked me if I've seen the human centipede. I guess it was his pick up line. But I never wanted to hang out with him because I feared he'd turn me into a human centipede.

: (

reply

What a combination ! Dinner, the beach and a really twisted movie ( not exactly a chick-flick ). " Pick up line ? " Seriously?

reply

I think since I turned him down (he was married with kids) he started saying creepy stuff to me.
The human centipede is not Netflix and chill material.

reply

many of them concerned the effect on the actors/actresses not the audience.

your welcome

reply

Most of those are pretty tame.
Antichrist was extreme but there are many worse. (more disturbing I mean)

reply

I thought AntiChrist as pretentious as hell!

reply

I have a love/hate thing with Lars von trier.
He has talent but the plots of his movies are just so sadistic.

reply

yeah, agree. the only one I truly loved was "Dancer in the Dark" but only because of Bjork and David Morse.

reply

Even that one, the whole plot was heaping every kind of abuse and tragedy onto the female protagonist.
same with breaking the waves, same with Dogville... and he wrote all those screenplays too. So it's not even just choosing scripts with those themes, he is writing it all himself.
Every movie is just like, how much misfortune and pain can you dump on one woman?
Bjork had such a stressful time making "Dancer in the Dark" that she said she never wanted to do another movie after that. (although she has done some with her husband since then)
Nicole Kidman also didn't want to do the sequel to Dogville...he had to get Bryce Dallas Howard to do it. I think a lot of his actresses do not have a great experiences in his films.

reply

I know about Bjork being stressed for that film and not wanting to do another film, ever. It's sad because she gave a stunning and riveting performance. I believe she even had a 'stalker' too? I think I read that.

Regarde La Mer ( See the Sea) is a short film ,about 60 minutes , starring and directed by Marina De Van. Great film. De Van also starred in "Dans Ma Peau" ( In My Skin), that was very disturbing ,too.

Most of them are there except Grotesque (2009), Wedding Trough (1974), Hate Crime (2012), and The Angel's Melancholia (2009) Most of these films are extremely sickening so I wouldn't recommend watching them even if you're a fan of mainstream horror films. I haven't seen them, just heard about them because they're so notorious. Even some horror websites have advised against watching some of them, like Cannibal Holocaust, A Serbian Film, Nekromantik, August Underground Mordum and Angel's Melancholia.

reply

Wedding Trough and Cannibal Holocaust are on Youtube.

reply

I know, many others are there too, it's insane how Youtube gives a pass for extreme violence, sex and nudity if it's deemed to have "artistic merit" and yet something tame like a topless woman gets removed. Also be warned, many of them have awful animal cruelty which is real and not staged like Cannibal Holocaust, Nekromantik and Angel's Melancholia.

reply

There is a version of CH without the animal cruelty that you can watch.

reply

A Serbian Film is also available on youtube.

reply

Earl, I've seen "Grotesque" and "A Serbian Film", the latter was the worst...yuuuck!! "Martyrs" (2008) was pretty bad too!

I've only seen 20 in that list.

reply

Did you notice that the main character from "A Serbian Film" looks a lot like Deeks from NCIS Los Angeles? Kind of ruined the show for me.

reply

Actually, no, I didn't on account of I've never watched NCIS Los Angeles. I don't really watch much TV at all, mostly just films. I can definitely understand how that could've ruined the show a bit for you though, it probably would've ruined it for me as well if I watched it.

reply

I hated Serbian Film, such pretentious sh*t! Same with "AntiChrist".

reply

Same here lennon. I didn't mind "AntiChrist" so much though but, it's definitely nowhere close to my top 10 or anything! More like at the bottom of the barrel collecting dust.

reply

Marian Dora's "Cannibal".

reply

and most of the films of my favorite director, Michael Haneke.

reply

I've seen 5 also. Now I would like to see the other 5. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the list hownos, it gives me some refs. 😊

reply

*SIGH*

Why not list the 10 movies and then the link? That way, I don't have to click on a bs link that'll freeze my browser, but still be able to see the list.

reply

All but Raw. Don't agree with over half of these
