Favorite beer and wine
What are everyone's favorite beers and wines? I like German wheat beer, Belgian white, and stout. Moscato is my favorite wine.

I don't think I have a specific favorite beer. I usually try to order something I haven't tried before, if there is anything new-to-me on the menu.
In the summer I like belgian white, summer seasonal beers and fruity beers. In the fall and winter I like ciders and amber ales and IPAs.
I am not a big wine drinker but I do like sparkling wines and dry roses. (NOT pink zin!)
I like apple beer.
Oddly, I don't drink wine but I like cooking with it.
I like stout beer, but I've been drinking a lot of wine lately. I like to mix any dry red or white wine with coke or sprite respectively.
shareI'll drink anything, really. Beer, wine, liquor... as long as it gets you drunk!
shareEverything will get you drunk.
If you don't want a shitty hangover the next day, choose your poison wisely.
Also getting drunk is fun, of course, but drinking just to get drunk isn't.
I just read a story about a California brewery making beer with treated sewage water.
I feel like I'm not ready to be that organic yet.
Now you're talkin' my language. I'm from Frankfurt, Germany.....practically weaned on the stuff. Used to really enjoy Warsteiner's & St. Pauli Girl's.
I've had so many, it's hard to pin them down. During the early 80's I sampled some dark, Danish stout, at that time proclaimed as the strongest beer in the world by Guinness Book of World Records. Haven't been able to find it since.
Recently, I've really enjoyed Amberbock and Sam Addams Oktoberfest conjoined with what I consider one of my most perfectly spiced pots of chili this past fall.
I'm an American, and I was in Germany (including Frankfurt) in 2011, and I loved the beers! I loved the country also, spending five weeks there. My two favorite countries for beer are Germany (of course) and Belgium.

Why do you feel a need to emphasize that you're American ? Are you assuming I'm not ? And if so, why ?
share
I didn't mean to emphasize it. Since you volunteered that you were from Frankfurt, I assumed that you're German.
I therefore volunteered that I'm an American. It's just a friendly exchange of information. No offense intended. Are you an American?

A dark amber beer like Anchor Steam, and deep reds
shareI also like a mixed drink sometimes.
Right now I'm enjoying some 1893 cola with Kraken.
