The Lobster: The worst movie I viewed in 2015
What say you?
shareI say no. I liked it very much.
shareI really liked it. No way was it the worst.

Interesting. Of course that's why they make chocolate and vanilla, and sometimes strawberry.
Maybe you just don't like social satire?

No, I like social satire, I just hated this movie. IMHO it was stupid, fascistic, and exceedingly cruel, both to humans and animals. It was also poorly written, directed and acted. I'm a big Colin Farrel fan, but I didn't even like him in this turkey.
He was excellent In Bruges. I loved that film.
Did we watch the same movie?

I think we did, but that question raises a fascinating fact. If any number of people watch a movie, you can get any number of reactions. And they can range from awful to excellent, for the same movie. It's an interesting quirk of human nature. IMHO that means that neither of us are right or wrong in an absolute sense. It just means our opinions are different. That's one of the things which makes discussing movies so interesting.
That is indeed true. I certainly found it refreshing and at times funny, full of quirks and questions till the end of the thing.
Need to ask, did you hate the ending?
The short answer would be yes.
Well, luckily for us, we don't have 45 days or something to fall in love. I'll always remember that.

Was that quote in the movie? I've tried hard to forget most of it.
No, it's just a thought, I mean, what I'll remember about this movie the most is the 45-day period. It reminds me something quite funny people use to say to you if you're around 30: "Darling, why haven't you had kids yet? What are you waiting for?" or "When are you going to get married?". I believe the film itself tries to convey society's superficial pov on relationships and the fact that there are no real rules for love.
I understand why you didn't like it: It's repetitious, at times slow and plain weird/absurd, but it worked for me in this case because that's how I feel about the whole relationships bs.
