shareMy user name is my last name. On IMdb, I used variations of my name as my user name.
shareMine is... self-explanatory. Though when Marie Osmond signed an autograph for me she wrote "To blue eyes..." because of my dazzling blue eyes. And my name is David. Other than Marie, again, self-explanatory.
shareHottie is the name of one of my favorite nail polishes. Hawaii is where I live. And 27 is my age.
Had a different name on imdb. Purple dream was my user name there. I didn't do a lot of chatting on there, just read a lot on the boards.
The Beatles~Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
I always liked looking through kaleidoscopes. And, my eyes change colors.
Did that Beatles song inspire your name as well as liking to look through them? What colours do your eyes change into? I bet they're gorgeous!
shareIt's a combo of liking the lyrics, my grandmother having lots of kaleidoscopes that I would look through, and people being intrigued with the fact that my eyes change colors. My eyes start off a plain green. They can change to the colors that I am wearing and my mood. I could never play hookie because my mom knew my eyes turn a dark blue gray when I am truly sick. They turn almost fluorescent green when I am upset. I always wished I was a brown eyed redhead though. I always thought they were the prettiest. Although, there was one girl I knew that had really bright red hair with those pretty Caribbean blue-green eyes. Ugh, envied her.
shareProfessional Tourist is the handle I use online. At the IMDb there was an underscore between the words because they did not permit spaces in the screen names.
I chose the name from a nice time in my life when I quit working for a few years and traveled around the world -- so I was a 'professional tourist' for a while.
Lucky you!
shareNice! Just out of curiosity, have you been on all four continents? My grandparents on my Mom's side have...all without regrets aside from once catching a minor illness in South America on a cruise ship over a decade ago.
shareFour continents? As an american I believe there are seven continents. Europeans believe there are five continents -- they count North and South America as one, and they do not count Antarctica. I don't know where the people believe in only four continents, but answering as an american:
1. North America -- yes
2. South America -- yes
3. Europe -- yes
4. Asia -- no
5. Africa -- yes
6. Australia -- yes
7. Antarctica -- no
My favorite was South America, particularly Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Technically, there are only four continents and I think being American, like I myself also, I think we are very ignorant to the rest of the world. South America and North America should be one. Eurafrasia should be one. Antarctica should be one. Australia should be one.
My opinion, the North Pole should be one. LOL!!
So five.
1. North America - yes
2. South America - no
3. Europe - yes
4. Asia - yes
5. Africa - not yet, soon
6. Australia - not yet, will get there
7/ Antarctica - not yet, saving that one for last
Is there anything in particular that stood out for you during your adventures? There's got to be at least one crazy story in there. I'm dying to know...
sharePopcorn and movies go together.
Nothing deeper than that.
I have to say that your username is one of my favorites here for that reason alone!
shareI still do not get it though. It just says "Popcorn Kernel". Where is the movie part?
D'OH
Moviechat.org
I like the "K" too. π
shareYour name actually makes me hungry...lol. π
shareI remember biting into a popcorn and assumed that particular piece had popped. I later realised after chipping my tooth when biting into it that it hadn't. Such deceiving little twats those popcorns.
shareHave you seen the half popped popcorn they sell now? What we used to call "old maids". I think it's called "halfpops".
I bought some by accident thinking it would be normal popcorn. That'll teach me to read the label more!
Haha, I do that too. I will grab something thinking it's something else and be all pissy about it until I realize it was my own fault for not reading.
shareStyx, goddess of the river. Nyx, goddess of the night. Mythological names are so cool. π
Formerly know as, woodstock1960, on IMDb.
I was almost going to guess that you were a fan of the rock band, Styx, but you still have a great and unique username regardless of that! :)
shareThanks jmc! π I actually do like some of the older Styx songs from the 70's. I'm not up to date with them now though.
shareYeah they're not a bad band at all. Although I don't really know any of their new stuff either.
While we're on the topic, I like a healthy mix of classic rock, some blues, some jazz, and country....and some occasional big band or traditional pop songs too...like Michael Buble's older stuff.
I'm into classic rock mostly, country I really like too but mostly older country, older pop, some blues as well and some bluegrass. Not really into jazz or big band so much, although there's some light jazz I've liked...Chuck Mangione type jazz for instance. Alternative...the ambient music I also like...and Celtic. Probably other types too but that covers a lot.
Seems like everything I like is older...lol. The rock, country, and pop I like most spans from 60's to 80's. Some 90's is ok. When we hit 2000 I said..."WTF am I listening to!" LoL!
I'm with you on the older music.
As for today's "country" music, it's so synthesized and popped up that I no longer recognize the genre anymore. Although I do have certain exceptions like George Strait, Shania Twain (her older stuff), Loretta Lynn, Tim McGraw (mostly his older stuff, but some of his newer stuff is tolerable) Faith Hill (definitely her older stuff), Martina McBride, Josh Turner, Kacey Musgraves, Kenny Rogers (no longer touring but still making music), Lonestar, Mo Pitney (fairly new, but good so far), Ray Scott (more of a writer, but still a decent artist), Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd (select few songs), Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley (definitely his older material), Randy Travis, Jamey Johnson, John Michael Montgomery, Hank Williams, Jr. Johnny Cash ("The Man in Black") and dare I say Garth Brooks who recently came out of retirement...and those are just a few good examples. ;)
I also have a few albums from REO Speedwagon (have all their greatest hits), Foreigner (greatest hits), Journey (greatest hits), one treasured live album from Carly Simon (1988's "Greatest Hits Live") and one great album from Night Ranger too ("Midnight Madness" is worth checking out if you haven't already).
I have been to a few concerts as well...but not in a little while. The last concert I went to was for Lonestar at one of my local parks out of all places during the summer...and it was a free event too. All I had to do was to pay for parking. They still sounded pretty good and I got to briefly meet the founder of the band too, Dean Sams. He plays either guitar or keyboard. Would've preferred to meet the lead singer, Richie McDonald, but it was still nice to have the opportunity to at least meet one of them....which is a moment that I'll probably never forget anytime soon.
Yeah, that's what I don't like is all that synthesized and auto-tune crap...that's not real music, that's cheating!
Oooo...love nearly everyone you listed...a few I'm not familiar with...the new one's. Love REO, Carly and the other's in that paragraph too! OMG Vince Gill, I could listen to his beautiful gospel voice forever! Oh...I like gospel music too...the older stuff. My parents made me go to church when I was little and just took to the music. I'll have to check out that Night Ranger album cause I like some of their music too.
I've been to some pretty good concerts. Elvis was the first one back in 75...he was awesome! Sick (poor guy) but awesome! Ok...let me think...my memory is trying to fail me...ok...I've seen Elton John, Billy Joel, Deep Purple, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones...my fave! I love Mick! β€ It seems like I'm missing a few...well, maybe I'll think of them later if I can.
Okies, anyway, I'm out of here, will catch up with you tomorrow or so. Pleasure chatting with you jmc, have a good one! πππ
Oh...the bands I listed are not in the order I saw them in either.
shareI thought so too. The rock band.
shareOoh, love your name! Mythological meaning, and it ryhymes to boot! π±πππ»
shareMine is for my favorite character from "All About Eve" and yes, it was my name on IMDb. My signature there was......
Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night.
My all time favorite line.

shareI forgot to mention 9, my sig was, "Ain't life grand!"...which was said by Warren Beatty in the 1967 film, Bonnie and Clyde. I love that film, Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway were so awesome in that! And 50 years later, they were handed the wrong envelope at the Oscars...the final bullet? LoL...crazy! π
