Just came across this website earlier this week. I have been a longtime user of IMDb for both reviewing films and chatting about them on their boards, which as everyone should know by now, is now closed. For that reasoning alone, however, I do plan to visit this site much more often.

In any case, this seems like a great community here that also looks and feels just like IMDb. On that note, I look forward to discussing great films and TV shows with you all from here on out.

Hi, jmcd2007! Former IMDb user here, as well, and it's terrific to be back among fellow film lovers so seamlessly, thanks to this wonderful site. It's been great having conversations here with everyone already. Happy to hang my (movie) hat here. :)

Hello, bravo_bravo, and welcome to MovieChat.org! Glad to know that some former IMDB users are filtering their way here! Hope to have further conversation with you and so many others here in the near future!

You'll also find that the community here is very nice so far and the look and feel of the website is very similar and organized like IMDB as well, which was just one of the reasons why I decided to join. Heck, I was even successfully able to carry over my original IMDB username as well.

On that note, I have been telling this to a lot of new users lately, but if you do have any suggestions to enhance your experience with this website at all, please feel free to use the "Lists and Recommendations" message board or e-mail the fantastic and hard working creator and owner of this website (Jim Smith) at [email protected] :)
