Imitations never succeed

I've seen a few YouTube clones in my time and they always end up failing. If you want this site to succeed, you need to add some quirks that differentiates it from IMDB. Make the theme blue instead of yellow. Add a thumbs up/down system or even karma points. The trending widget is a nice touch.

Keep up the good work Jim! Maybe consider advertising on reddit, that might bring in a few more people.

Imitations never succeed? Titanic succeeded. Kim Kardshian's claim to fame by releasing an xxx tape, already done by Paris Hilton, Jordan and Pamela Anderson. Myspace>Facebook>Twitter>Snapchat.

Myspace>Facebook>Twitter>Snapchat - The general concept is the same but they're all quite different. This however is a carbon cutout of the original IMDB boards. I just hope it changes in time.

oh jesus.

If YouTube is ever dumb enough to disable commenting for all its videos, I think you would see a different result for the clones.

Dear Jesus Christ, thanks you for your input. I am as humble opinion of human being feels this site is more like resurrection something that had lost than some imitations. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Facebook was a kind of clone and it succeeded.

The thing is, the IMDB boards don't exist anymore. So sites like this one are guaranteed to improve and succeed over time. People are using it, the kinks are being worked out.

Youtube would be smashed tomorrow if a competitor didn't have to deal with patents and their huge financial backing from Google. For whatever reason, companies can't copy them, but when they can legally do so, watch out.

But this is not an imitation. It's a badly needed replacement.

And from what I've seen already, it's going to be a rousing success!
