I did the same thing a few hours ago........as Soon as I found this site. I'll NEVER go back to that site. They punched us ALL in the gut, and didn't even say "Sorry."
shareYep , everyone's feeling same. There are lot of boards which are not archived though , is it possible all of them gets archived , as there were multiple teams who worked to archive boards , maybe everyone comes together.
shareI'm keeping mine, because I have nearly a thousand ratings there and i'd hate to lose them after building them up for years. Also, who knows, the boards may come back someday if the site comes under better ownership or the current ownership wises up as to what an incredibly stupid and shitty thing they've done. If the boards ever return, my account will still be there.

shareFuck imdb. I had an account there for almost 15 years and I deleted it out of disgust. What's worse is that they killed the message boards almost a full day before the deadline so you couldn't even say your goodbyes.
Senor Frickin Braggis, My Sentiments Exactly!!! I literally google searched, "Fuck IMDB" to see if anything like that had been written. lol But that's the only thing that comes to mind when I think of what imdb did. Cruel and heartless.
shareSenor, the opposite thing happened to me. I live 1 hour ahead of Greenwich time, so I waited till midnight to witness the moment of board demise, but nothing happened.
For a moment I thought (hoped) they reconsidered and decided to keep the boards, but after 1 a.m. it was "poof" gone with the wind.
Also just deleted my account after 10+ years. Hope many more people decide to do the same. I'm done with IMDb! They ruined a very good thing...I don't care about how many trolls there were on the message boards, I just ignored them and went about my business with no problems. Oh well, I'm very happy to be here and get back to some great movie discussions! Thank you to whoever created this site!!! Hope more movie fans come along!
shareActually that's a good idea. Because of the betrayal of IMDb and its subsequent current uselessness, I should just close my account with them. I wasn't planning to because I no longer visit IMDb and therefore don't care that I have one, but it's my meagre and pathetic way of retaliating so I'm going to hop over to that money monster craphole and delete the damned thing.
