Not enough people here

I really like this site but the biggest problem is that few people seem to know about it, same problem for themoviedb and chataboutfilms. On the IMDB forums you could ask a question about an obscure film or show from the 60s, 70s or even earlier and someone would answer the same day but here, even the most popular and recent shows and films are a ghost town in the discussions. There needs to be some advertising to bring in people, I hope it improves over time but the few people here won't stick around long if it stays like this for a long time.

Agreed, it was so very tactless, mean behavior! And not only that, the posting did not even work for me in the end, the D´oh stupid message popped up all the time.

I wonder how many people would even go back to them or pay for them if they came back in some way. They've hurt and burned some many loyal posters, that that bitter taste may just last enough for not many people to want to trust them or go back to them.

I know I don't really have much interest since everything is just a commodity to them and they tossed us out so disrespectfully. That's not really a great way to keep folks on board.

I've never heard of any business or site closing something popular down and not having an immediate replacement at the ready to them promptly fill the void. Yet, in the present situation, they neither explained or gave us anything - didn't even nicely ask everyone to be patient and to please give them a chance to come through. Nope: They act like they don't owe us any either explanation or anything to even appease us for a short while. All they do is give extremely vague hints of something EVENTUALLY good to come.

Agreed, tossed us out so very disrespectfully indeed!! And so early with no warning :(

Were any of you who are right now in here already familiar with each other before the other day, or has everyone met for the first time since then? It feels weird to me that I haven't seen anyone familiar from IMDb since prior to 7p.m. Sunday. I never do the IMDb group message boards - just ever strictly the movie or show or person specific ones. And normally for very old movies.

It's because all the replacement forums are ready built to post. We like aesthetics so if something is perceived as being out of fashion then our attention span moves on.to the shiny new toy. We replace our smartphones even other year cause of a new feature so a message board without an edit feature, no avatar feature and no reply feature is going to get traffic.

I.think the only way imdb brings back the boards would be to include it as part of Prime membership.
