What's a ring?

Example:
My mom's in a web ring, my dad has ring around the collar, my dog has ringworm, the girl with the lazy eye just aksed me to give her a ring and I'm gonna wring my neighbor's friggin' neck.
"ring around the collar"
That goes back a while. I'll bet there are a lot of people who don't know what that is.
It's a shame it hasn't been stamped out. Not every town has a Jefferson Cleaners.
