I watched Les Miserables (the newer one) last weekend. Been awhile since I saw it before then. It was especially interesting since now I recognized Wolverine, Bellatrix Lesstrange, and Newt Scamander out of context. Of course, all the songs have been stuck in my head off and on.

Chariots of Fire had a profoundly emotional effect on me when I first saw it in the early 80's because I was both a distance runner and very devout at that time, living in a college town.

shareThere is a better adaptation of the original that was made for TV in the 1970's, called REFLECTIONS OF MURDER. It stars Tuesday Weld, Sam Waterston and Joan Hackett, if you can find it.

shareIt seemed like a perfect cast....but Isabelle Adjani is just kind of boring and remote in it : ( I remember Sharon Stone as being perfect for the part, but the story just didn't have that much punch, the way they did it.
The acting in the 70's version is really good...and it's basically about three characters, so when you have a strong trio that meshes well together....that's 3/4 of it.
Are you a Tuesday Weld fan? She's a very interesting and naturalistic cult figure...because she turned down SO MANY famous roles.

The last two I saw before that were also hugely popular, between 35 and 42 years old, and movies of which I had been aware since they came out but had never actually seen till now.
