it has the base right, its easy to use and sign up lets just hope it works and people use this place

Hopefully the maxim, if you build it they will come, holds true in this case.

That “maxim” is from a movie script. Most maxims derive from a more substantial base. Your notion of “maxim” is more like a quote from a t-shirt, bumper sticker or greeting card. Trivial.

I hope so too, but I'm worried it won't. Other than "word of mouth" on the IMDb boards before they closed (the way I found out about it), how *would* new users discover this? Will it come up prominently on Google when someone searches for movies?

Is it really possible to archive all IMDB posts and transfer to this site - in same format? And if so, when will it be up and running?

I've been trying to non-intrusively/non-spammily suggest it to people on social media. Because the IMDb message boards closed just now, there's a lot of discussion and sadness as people learn that it's gone forever. It's a good time to let people know about this brand-new site that managed to save a lot of the content.

It already has! More and more people all the time, and most want to get down to the business of film talk. Please do post on the individual movie pages, post on the GBs, post everywhere you can to promote constructive film chats!
