Thanks for the info, I've never seen the episodes with Jackie Gleason. I was born in 1949 and I remember growing up in the 50's,most families just had 1 TV (with tubes) and people spent their evenings watching the shows. I loved Our Miss Brooks, My Little Margie, September Bride, I Married Joan, Father Knows Best, and of course I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners. I still enjoy watching these shows and the families depicted in these sitcoms were more like normal families than the sitcoms starting in the late 60's and forward. The people in the 50 sitcoms did not have fabulous homes, fancy cars, their kids were not always at the top of their class, etc. The TV schedules were pretty well set too so if you missed a series during the Fall and Winter months because another show was on at the same time, you could watch the reruns in the summer. Now it seems like you watch a show 3 or 4 times and it disappears for a week or two before coming back, sometimes on a different day or time. I quit watching several shows simply because I lost track of them.
