Opinions on Dutch film

I as a Dutchie must admit that Dutch films have never really interested me. I was wondering on some of the thoughts you guys have. I think Paul Verhoeven is pretty good and I like George Sluizer allot. Haven't really watched anything Dutch for a couple of years now, which is kinda crazy since I have lived in this country all my life!

I'd rather not put my trust in wikipedia. Laura Gemser was born in Indonesia (in a place called Java Island where I was also born), but moved to the Netherlands later on.

Regardless, I intend to visit the Netherlands one day, though, given the chance.
