I, too, am experiencing no ill effects from the update. - Coldheart2236
The only after effect I've noticed is that when my computer is fully booted and no applications are open, my free memory is less than before - something like 60% free versus 70% free before. I'm not sure if that's due to the new Windows Update client, or one of the new updates I installed with it. I ran DDS (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/dds/) and compared the logs to my previous ones (from last November) and didn't see any differences that surprised me. I also ran Process Explorer (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) and looked in Services, but nothing jumped out at me as a problem.
Now I have (GWX Control Panel) installed in the wake of the recent WU problem and subsequent installation of KB3161608, and nothing has changed as of yet.
Still, there's two weeks to go... - Coldheart2236
Microsoft conceded today that Windows 10 won't hit 1 billion devices by mid-2018 (http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-windows-10-wont-hit-1-billion-devices-by-mid-2018/), so hopefully that means they'll lay off and leave us in peace.
