DEI hire Trump fires those working on the currently active bird flu...

The error is the latest in the Trump administration's attempts to rapidly shrink the size of the government by conducting mass firings of federal workers — an effort that is being carried out by tech billionaire Elon Musk and the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, which is heavily staffed by people who have no experience in government.

On Friday, the administration tried to notify some nuclear safety employees who were fired last week that they are now due to be reinstated — but struggled to find them because they didn’t have their new contact information.

The latest episode comes as the virus has decimated poultry flocks and has sent egg prices soaring. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 68 cases among humans in the U.S. so far. On her first day in office, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins convened a panel on bird flu and "reviewed options for a comprehensive strategy to combat it," the department said in a release.

Several agencies within the Agriculture Department play a role in responding to the outbreak, including the Agricultural Research Service and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. On Sunday, Politico reported that some of the Trump administration's layoffs hit the National Animal Health Laboratory Network, which is involved in avian flu research.

The layoffs concerned a number of Republican lawmakers, who privately warned the Trump administration that such cuts could hamper the government’s bird flu response and asked them to reconsider, according to two Republican sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

Lawmakers had received little guidance from the administration about the recent program cuts and staff terminations at USDA, which sources said has frustrated Republicans on the House Agriculture Committee. The panel, which oversees the USDA, provided a briefing to its members over the weekend to try to provide some more clarity to lawmakers.

RUH ROH! What a joke.

Not a miracle.
This outcome was clear from the moment on when Trump ordered the CDC in response to bird flu, not to give any data to anyone about anything, as if silencing the problem could solve it.

"no experience in government."

And zero respect for them while having no idea what they do or the consequences of too few employees.

Blindly firing them under these conditions is going to end up killing a lot of Americans.

Then plan is to GUT government, doesn't matter the experts or DEI or not. I guess Libertarians will know what it is like to have little government working, lol.

I wonder if part of the plan is to go after the elections.

A lot of what they are doing is going to directly affect people, including many Trump voters. Farmers are starting to complain after being hurt by the elimination of US AID and some other cuts they've made. Trumpers might still believe everything Trump says at the moment and be cheering DOGE on, but if they are personally hurt, they may rethink some things.

Not to mention the economy was huge during the last election cycle, and I doubt all this instability is going to help that improve.

I could absolutely see them declaring that elections are "temporarily" suspended due to widespread corruption. Just, you know, until they can clear the corruption from the election machinery. Those elections are over a year and a half away. Who knows what'll have happened with their purges of federal law enforcement and DOJ by then.

Worst case scenario, but we've been living through the worst case scenario for Trump 2.0 so far, like the opening of a dystopian novel.

So far Musk is operating like he's a believer in the ideas of people like Curtis Yarvin. The goal being some kind of libertarian dictatorship run by tech bro billionaire types. (I imagine the fact that a near majority of the voting public was convinced to put a clown like Trump in office could be seen by Yavin's supporters as evidence that his ideas are justified.)

I'm pretty sure it's not just Musk. Several tech billionaires were given preferred treatment at the inauguration. Musk is just the face. I wonder how far they've gone. A handful of companies control most of the technology that dominates our lives and is constantly gathering information about us.

They probably know more about our lives than we do. Imagine if they had access to our phones, that we've been lied to about what these tech companies can and can't access on our personal devices. What if those little permissions we see when we install an app asking that the app be able to access our microphones, cameras, storage, and so on are just for show.

Think of all the dirt they would have on our leadership. Many have speculated that J. Edgar Hoover was able to stay on as the FBI until he died through blackmail, essentially. The Kennedys despised the man, but never dared to get rid of him. Someone, I don't recall the name, once said that Hoover had dirt on half of congress, and the other half feared he had dirt on them. If some of these tech moguls have decided to get into the spying game, it'd be a powerful tool to employ to keep politicians and other leaders in line. Not to mention judges, prosecutors, their competitors...

I could also see them being aligned with some intelligence services. CIA? Mossad? US Military intelligence? There are ties between them and big tech companies that go back quite a ways. I don't really know when those began, probably at least since those companies started becoming influential, but after 9/11 there was an expansion of data gathering and surveillance with the cooperation of big tech. Courts ruled against some of these programs, they went too far, but I don't think it's far fetched to think that those court orders could have been ignored and the programs even expanded.

One of the mysteries of the Jeffery Epstein case is why he was finally arrested and charged after seeming to operate with impunity for all those years.

Maybe his old fashioned methods of compromising people in power by putting them in sexual situations were obsolete. He was no longer needed. They were able to get everything they wanted from their targets own fucking phones. Really into pure speculation here, but there's some logic to that.

I've been diagnosed as being psychotic and am on psych meds, because I've actually had suspicions about being spied and have even suspected my family and other people I'm close to being turned against me (perhaps they are being spied on too or are being threatened). I'm a weird autistic and a fairly socially isolated person.

Those fears are as strong as they've ever been, unsurprising I'm sure to anyone who's read to this point. Probably no one, but who knows. Maybe one or two of "them". Of course, I am of no importance, but some inside this big tech/Mossad?CIA? cabal bent on bringing down our flawed republic might have taken me on as a little experiment or special project.

Maybe some lower level employees inside one of their operations are breaking up the workday monotony by toying with me and manipulating the people around me. Maybe they even share the results with certain friends or celebrities. You know people always are craving ways to get close to celebrities. There's just something about them that ordinary people don't have, a certain allure.

Hey Jon Stewart, have you seen this? Or maybe it was more J. Edgar Hoover style. Hey Jon Stewart, have you seen this? Don't worry, Mr. Stewart, we're making sure no one spies on you like this...

reply

rest assured, there's no possibility of word of your weird sexual proclivities getting out to the public. How'd we know about those? Oh, we don't. Don't worry. It was a hypothetical, a made up example.

Maybe I think too much. I'm sure I do. Sorry to bother you with my brain spewage.

I really should stop that. (But WHY WAS JEFFERY EPSTEIN RETIRED? It would explain a lot if his services were no longer required... no no stop that stop that

This is absolutely something that Trump and his bootlickers are laying the groundwork for. 100 percent

They continue to try to make this another doomsday event, since they enjoyed the unlimited power they arrogated to themselves during Covid, but Mother Nature's not cooperating.

The odds of being struck by lightning or bitten by a rattlesnake are considerably higher than the odds of contracting bird flu. Sixty eight people have contracted the bird flu, with one fatality? You have a 1:5,000,000 chance of even getting the sniffles and a 1:340,000,000 chance of dying from it? That's what you guys are up nights worrying about? 😂😂

We don't need all those extra gov employees, good riddance.

Quarantine the chickens and allow them to develop natural resistance, problem solved.
