So much for overruling the constitution

Judge John Coughenour, a Republican judge appointed by Ronald Reagan, has put Trumps EO about birthright citizenship on ice until a higher court will make a final decision.

What does it take before a Republican judge will call a presidential executive order from a Republican president "blatantly unconstitutional"?
Or would the better question be, what kind of an idiot does it take to try overruling the constitution by an EO?

reply

Sad part is that judge is probably gonna get death threats from MAGA extremists. Probably some of the same folks that Trump pardoned a couple days ago.

reply

Yup, they will probably call him a far left extremist now.

reply

The Constitution has been over ruled and violated numerous times since 1871.

The Constitution was violated when they originally passed birthright citizenship based on a misinterpretation.

reply

"The Constitution has been over ruled and violated numerous times since 1871."

I have no idea what you are referring to when you say "since 1871."

"In denying the right [the Supreme Court usurps] of exclusively explaining the
Constitution, I go further than [others] do, if I understand rightly [this] quotation
from the Federalist of an opinion that 'the judiciary is the last resort in relation to
the other departments of the government, but not in relation to the rights of the
parties to the compact under which the judiciary is derived.' If this opinion be
sound, then indeed is our Constitution a complete felo de se [act of suicide]. For
intending to establish three departments, coordinate and independent, that they
might check and balance one another, it has given, according to this opinion, to one
of them alone the right to prescribe rules for the government of the others, and to
that one, too, which is unelected by and independent of the nation. For experience
has already shown that the impeachment it has provided is not even a scare-crow . .
. The Constitution on this hypothesis is a mere thing of wax in the hands of the
judiciary, which they may twist and shape into any form they please."

During the Act of 1871, Congress and the 18th president, unconstitutionally sold a bankrupted (Civil War) America to the bankers in the Vatican and in London.

They altered one word in the Constitution from “for” to “of” making our country a “Corporation.”

reply

Naturally you used no MSM or internet scriptures to source this claim

For everyone else: no act has passed to make the USA a corporation, though a corporation for Columbia was created at this time. There is a conspiracy theory that has long claimed that in 1871 the District of Columbia became a private business venture owned by bankers, notably the City of London. tv has been told this before.

reply

Ah, so you're functioning as a regurgitating substitute of the msm and the fact checkers. Got it

reply

Is it a dimly remembered conspiracy from your past? Or is it just all your own idea? I think we should be told. LOL

reply

What does your fact checkers say?

reply

Now now tv. You know that there there is absolutely no point in offering any links to prove my point, since they will be dismissed out of hand. And I asked you first for the source of your poor history lesson. Evasion noted.

Also, poor grammar noted.

reply

I didn't ask for links. You can still quote them. Go ... 👇

reply

No, as I say there is simply no point when you accept nothing other than your own opinion (and occasionally Wiki when it suits, it seems). I have learnt that the hard way. A Google search will quickly bring up the facts. Give it a try for once. Then contradict me.

And your evasion is still noted: I asked you first for the source of your poor history lesson. Oh that's right; it is likely just off the top of your head.

reply

I dug a link out for you .
It took some finding , there was a real scaricity of evidence for or against this "historical event"

one of my favorite responses in that thread is
Some of the questions on Quora are so bizarre that I don’t know where people find the inventiveness and imagination to come up with them.

Although it is a potent check on the other branches of the U.S. government, federal courts rarely exercised the power of judicial review in early American history. After deciding Marbury in 1803, the Supreme Court did not strike down another federal law until 1857, when it struck down the Missouri Compromise in its now-infamous decision Dred Scott v. Sandford, a ruling that contributed to the outbreak of the American Civil War.

LOL!

He put the topic on the table, I think that's what he wanted to do.

There are people who deliberately get their child born in the US to get citizenship - is that cool?

reply

What's the point of wanting more babies in America and then not giving citizenship to babies born in the US only because the parents aren't American?

reply

"There are people who deliberately get their child born in the US to get citizenship - is that cool?"

How come nobody, not even the worst MAGA fools, dared sueing Biden for locking them up?
How come Trump didn't order a court to revise the cases to get a non guilty? Why did Trump pardon them, as in "guilty but I let you get out of prison anyway"?
