WTF Alaska House Seat

When's the last time Alaska voted Democrat?

I guess they used ranked-choice voting there. That in itself is odd, I thought ranked-choice was only in really blue places...

This guy Nick Begich has about 125k votes, which is about half of all votes counted (71% reporting.)

By comparison, New York City District 16 has about 330,000 votes cast. (about 30% more than Alaska.)

Lyndon B. Johnson the only Democrat candidate to ever carry the state. Alaska is tied with Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma for the longest Republican voting streak for any state in recent political history, from 1968 to present.

Ranked choice voting is how the establishment keeps itself in power...Alaskans should have never voted that into existence.

If a type of voting doesn't go your way, get rid of it or claim rigged. Ah, just shows the cult mentality and anti-Democratic process of the right time and time again. Ranked choice may have some flaws but it's still way fairer than FPTP. The Dem won because there were multiple Rubes running and instead of coalescing into one team, they did separate, therefore spreading their voting power which in turn diminishes it below 50%. There's a whole science behind it.

Only thing I agree with is them taking this long to count the votes. Should be a max 3-4 days after election not 1-2 weeks or something.
