Biden selected Harris as VP not because she was a popular politician, but because she was a woman of color (he admitted this himself). When it was time to replace Biden, they were stuck with Harris, because you can't pass a woman of color if she's VP. The very same policy they religiously promote (selecting people based on race and sex) was the reason they lost. You can't think of a better example of poetic justice :D
