How do Democrats (or anyone) deal with MAGA's?

I thought about saying "normal people" instead of Democrats, but I thought....well....yeah. yeah. That's what I mean. Normal people. Anyway.

How do.....etc, deal with MAGA's?

I'm actually curious. Do you think "you're deluded" and click close? Do you think "another cult member", and click close? Do you just ignore them and let them ramble to themself? Honestly, the let them ramble to themself seems like the option that loses the least brain cells. I mean, you could reply to them. But. Seriously? what the f? effort.

edit Nov 24:

I think I've sussed it. I didn't realise it was that basic. "wtf" look, sort of https://ibb.co/HY8s50f , thumbs up, ignore, be glad you're not in the same room as them.

Do you need a few bottles of lube for this circlejerk invite, or are you planning to go in dry? πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

reply

Ok. Do you have anything normal to say?

reply

Post something normal for me to respond to.

reply

I'm going to maybe, and I'm looking at it very seriously. We're doing some other things that you probably noticed like some of the very important things that we're doing now. But we're looking at it very seriously, because you can't do that.

reply

You said a lot, but said nothing...

Kamala? Is that you?

reply

Nice - I've just quoted Trump.

reply

Well played Paul25, WELL played. LOL

reply

B1cKsurN PWNED!

reply

Is everyone who disagrees with you a MAGA Paul?

reply

Well. I could say something crazy like the 2020 election wasn't rigged, I'm not a convicted felon and I don't have the hots for my own daughter, and I know where Melania is. But that would be nuts.

reply

So a few questions,

Is it possible for elections to be meddled with?
Does someone being convicted of a crime make them less than human?
Is a father showering with his 11 year old daughter acceptable behaviour to you?

Bonus question, what's the name of your alt account?

reply

Is it possible for elections to be meddled with?

Only if it was the wrong result

Does someone being convicted of a crime make them less than human?

Some straw man going on there. But apart from the tax evasion, the helicopter crashes that didn't happen, the gargling with bleach, the hush money and the stairs that move upwards, the cult seems fine.

Is a father showering with his 11 year old daughter acceptable behaviour to you?

I'll take the MAGA route, "that was never proved, jesus, you people believe anything".

Bonus answer, it's the best account. That's what they tell me. and it's true. No, really. It's super. Because they tell me these things.

Biden did shower with his daughter. It's a fact.

reply

Lucky for him/her Biden's not their man anymore - they don't have to rationalize supporting that type of person.

They just have to rationalize supporting someone who supports genocide.

reply

Trump is still asking after Hunter, I believe?

reply

But. Trumps a deranged lunatic. Luckily his supporters are more sane. Did I say that out loud?

reply

I'm afraid you're going to have to list your psychology credentials in order for your diagnosis of Trump to be a marginally accurate guess...which it would be since you haven't personally seen him in a clinical 1 on 1 session.

reply

I wonder if his credentials are being on ADHD meds and in therapy since childhood - that counts.

reply

It's a sentence. It contains words, I'll give you that much.

reply

The ability to read?

reply

Be honest, what meds are you on? And since when. This is a safe space.

reply

Rigged, man. It was freakin rigged. And four years isn't enough time to whinge about it. They should have given him 5 years to whinge about it. And a big 5 years. The best 5 years. In between court appearances, for....you know. Criminal stuff.

reply

Do you think prosecuting the leading candidate for a political party during a critical election year, including more bullshit charges two months before the election, qualifies as election interference?

If they'll do this and lie to the American people about COVID for four years, why wouldn't they also cheat at the polls?

reply

Yes. They were all 'bullshit'.

reply

Does someone being convicted of a crime make them less than human?

I'm just wondering. Was it 32 counts or 34?

reply

And not one charge of showering with his 11 year old daughter.

Or helping to facilitate a genocide.

Maybe those are coming later?

reply

Don't make me get biblical.

reply

I don't understand how someone could be on either side. There's nuance to every argument and being on a side makes people blind to it because they want to be on the side they believe is right. Having said that, Kamala and Trump are both idiots.

reply

Take a side, fence sitter. We're at war.

reply

Fight amongst yourselves.

reply

They deal with them just like they would with any other law abiding, upstanding patriot.

How anyone deals with the radical left aka Modern Day Nazis is mind boggling.

reply

how about both parties try to get along why I am Unaffiliated aka Independent Party Voter I'm tired of your childish mudslinging.

reply

In the real world, I've gotten better at holding my tongue when political talk comes up.

Hunh, you don't say...

reply

ditto

reply

I sort of indulge myself by yammering back at them. Probably a bit immature, but silence seems close to assent.

It's not like you're going to have a serious conversation. These sorts of people actually know very little about the world, operate on a series of 3-7 fixed ideas, basically want to put the boots to people they don't like, and in the main leave the country in the hand of the uber-wealthy, profiteers, polluters, know-nothings, etc. Kinda, you know, dumb.

And so, I'm left with the occasional yammer. :)

Otoh, I have very little to offer in engaging either with those who see or make no distinction among the options on offer. They may not be hateful, but they sure seem ignorant, heedless of the issues or their responsibilities as citizens. Not to say I support every single Democratic policy or priority, but the contrast is sufficient to discern a reasonable preference, imo.

You guys generally don't have one to offer...all it ever is, is insults and dunning-kruger.

reply

There's irony. and then there's irony. and then there's irony. and then there's what you said.
If you want proof,

1) jriley's entire reply didn't consist of the following: "lies".
2) you gave a 1 sentence answer.

It's like having the self awareness of a dried grapefruit.
