Is a fair criticism. But consider this - when you're stock is rising, you will be sorely tempted to do nothing that risks stalling the momentum.
She will be interviewing soon enough, and her critics will immediately move on to other criticisms.
Something I find amusing is that Trump, a man who can bleat nonsensically upon demand, and has done for years, is accorded 'credit' for so doing, as if that is proof of some sort of sagacity - but really, just listen to the nonsense that oozes out, and you'll quickly find yourself de-rating the importance of the mere performance of an interview, as proof of merit or competence.
I think the demand is rising, and will soon be met. I want to see her in action, too.
Agree with both of you, candidates must make a good showing under un-scripted settings - we need/deserve/require to know how our proposed leaders think on their feet. Its a curious fact of life that Trump spews the most incoherent nonsense, but it seems not to impact his base. Harris will face a greater risk, a higher standard of scrutiny, but also possible reward. At any rate, it must be done.
There are, in fact, unanswered questions as to the VPs competence in this regard. Strategically & tactically, however, she has vastly exceeded anyone's expectations thus far. Ditto, the VP pick, rather than following the 'safe' path and picking Shapiro (who actually has significant downside).
No, I think she's been playing it safe. She is, in fact, very likeable & funny. The proof will be in the pudding. One thing we do know - she could never get away with the blather which passes for 'content' out of the mouth of her opponent. But that's the way it is.
I also think her staff has been preparing her, at the same time she is gaining exposure to the campaign stage, and honing her message. Remember, she was thrust into this role just a month ago.
We'll all see soon enough - prediction : Democrats will applaud, TrumpCo will jeer.
Giving Trump the questions wouldn't have benefited him anyway - he's an ignorant gasbag :)
I'll leave this discussion here. I'm sure you're utterly convinced the fascist project doesn't get a warm welcome in the political establishment, other than in their own blathering hermetically sealed ecosphere. And I'll agree with you. The NYT & WaPo don't like him. But, remember, the WSJ and Fortune 100 and AIPAC & scores of millions of yahoos definitely do. So, if you're crying, find someone else to cry to.
