team usa wins the math olympiad - who's on the team?

i noticed while browsing twitter this morning that team usa won the international math olympiad. a great accomplishment.

i'm always interested in the demographics that make up the math team. diversity is our greatest strength, after all, so i'm sure all groups will be properly represented, since there couldn't be any population differences.

based on the names (Krishna Pothapragada, Qiao Zhang, Linus Tang, Jessica Wan, Alexander Wang, and Jordan Lefkowitz), it appears to me that we have 4 chinese, one indian & one old-school jewish cat representing those big ashkenazi brains.

i'm sure this is completely unrelated to the fact that there remains a standard deviation difference between black & white avg scores on the sat.

or that the act scores for 2023, normed for a white avg of 100, showed blacks with a mean score of 86.

or that in states like michigan, where all 11th graders take the sat, 25% of asians score in the 96th percentile, while 0% blacks scored in that range.

or that there remains roughly a one standard deviation gap in b/w average iq scores, meaning the average white is more intelligent than 84% of blacks.

but all those things are just remnants of our racist past, of course. it's very trashy to notice this stuff. we just have to try harder, have more government interventions, tax away more money to be put into schools that will help all populations achieve their natural state of equity. then all group differences will vanish. can't wait for that day.

Keelai will not like this. Everyone's a blank slate, don't you know?

I put her (that still shocks me) on my ignore list.

I have no problem with a heated debate. Welcome it, in fact.

But I'm too old and tired to put up with jerks like her who have to go to insults right at the starting line.
