Amid existing commitments in Israel and Ukraine, the U.S. now faces a potential new conflict in South America.

U.S. announced today they will be conducting military drills with Guyana amid dispute over their oil-rich region with Venezuela

Escalating tensions between Venezuela and Guyana after a controversial referendum empowered Venezuela to annex the disputed Essequibo region.

The area, rich in natural resources and about the size of Greece, is central to the conflict.

Guyana views the referendum as a step toward annexation, raising alarms over its sovereignty.
